AUCTION AUCTION AUCTION - ONLY PLACE BIDS ON THIS ORIGINAL POST!

I received this beautiful buffet as a gift from a customer some years ago and I didn’t feel right selling it since it was a gift to me! I LOVE it but have no room for it! She is an animal lover so I asked her if it was ok to auction it off to the highest bidder and donate all funds to the Lakeshore Humane Society and she LOVED the idea! So here we go!!!

CHARITY AUCTION — Antique Showers Brothers Buffet / Sideboard

Today through November 18th, 2026

Opening Bid: $100

100% of the net proceeds will be donated to Lakeshore Humane Society in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Offered for charity auction is a beautiful antique Showers Brothers Company buffet/sideboard, manufactured in Bloomington, Indiana.

The original paper manufacturer’s label remains on the back and identifies the piece as:

Showers Brothers Company — Bloomington, Indiana
Catalog No. 5812

The label also identifies Behn-Goetz Furniture Co. of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, giving this antique an especially interesting connection to our local area.

Based on its design, construction and surviving manufacturer’s label, this buffet is believed to date to approximately the 1920s–1930s. It displays the Jacobean/Tudor Revival styling popular during that era.

Features

• Approximately 66” wide × 22” deep × 39¾” high

• Two large center drawers with dovetail construction

• Two side storage cabinets with interior shelving

• Beautiful figured-wood drawer fronts

• Ornate period-style metal hardware

• Decorative oval cabinet-door detailing

• Turned legs with casters

• Decorative stretcher base and carved trim

• Raised decorative backsplash

• Original Showers Brothers manufacturer’s label

• Historical Two Rivers, Wisconsin dealer provenance

Condition

This is an approximately century-old piece of furniture being offered in unrestored, as-found condition.

It displays age-related wear including scratches, finish loss, marks and wear to the top, legs and other areas. Please examine all photographs carefully.

We have intentionally not refinished the piece, preserving its existing character, construction and original manufacturer’s/dealer label.

The buffet is sold as-is.

A Piece of Local History Helping Local Animals

What makes this auction particularly special is the local connection.

Although the buffet was manufactured by Showers Brothers in Bloomington, Indiana, its surviving label indicates that it was associated with Behn-Goetz Furniture Co. of Two Rivers, Wisconsin.

Now, roughly a century later, this locally connected piece of furniture is being auctioned to benefit animals in our community.

100% of the net proceeds from the winning bid will be donated to Lakeshore Humane Society in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Proof of the completed donation will be available following the auction.

Bidding

Opening bid: $100

Please bid generously—the goal is to find this wonderful antique a new home while raising as much as possible for Lakeshore Humane Society.

Pickup

Date to Pick up November 20th, 2026

The winning bidder is responsible for loading and transportation. Please bring adequate help, moving blankets and an appropriately sized vehicle.
