Parents naturally want to protect their children, but stepping in too often can make it harder for them to build confidence and independence.
Confident parenting starts with recognizing your reactions, setting healthy boundaries, and giving children space to learn and grow.

From Tense to Confident Parenting The surprising path to confident parenting begins by making yourself—not your child—the project.

The way you lead people at work was shaped long before you had the title.
Unresolved trauma can follow you into work through control, perfectionism, overworking, conflict avoidance, or feeling responsible for everyone around you.
In a leadership role, these patterns can affect how you handle pressure, assign tasks, react when you make mistakes, and make decisions.
The way things seem to be 'just the way I operate' might, in fact, be an old survival mechanism carrying out its function in a different situation. 🧠
When you see the pattern, you can take the initiative from where you are now rather than responding based on the past.
Lionhearted can help you explore what may be underlying reactions you don't fully understand and develop healthier ways to cope with pressure. 🦁💙

If you’ve always been the giver, helping may feel genuine and natural. But you may also worry that saying no would make you lose your value or your position in the relationship.
Somewhere along the way, you may have picked up the idea that you have to earn love, safety, or belonging by what you give to others.
👉 This isn’t true, and it is entirely possible to serve others without losing yourself.
This might mean offering support without taking on everything, saying yes only when you truly can, or letting someone feel disappointed without trying to fix it right away.
Healthy giving comes from having the freedom to choose, not from feeling like you have to prove your worth by helping. 💙

Repeated behaviors usually offer some kind of payoff, even when they also create problems.
If you keep doing something you say you want to change, it may be because the benefits still outweigh the costs in some way.
This article looks at why lasting change starts with owning what the behavior gives you before deciding what to do differently:

Own It or Change It You keep doing the thing you say you want to stop. The Integrity Fork can help your mouth and your feet align again.

A sign of effective therapy is that, over time, you might not need it anymore.
You have the opportunity through counseling to come to a better understanding of your thoughts, to experiment with new ways of responding, and to gain the stability needed to apply those skills in everyday life.
The longer time passes, the more sessions tend to shift from being focused on crisis support to focusing on your progress, where you might:
☑️ Begin to cope with difficult emotions in healthier ways
☑️ Recover from conflicts more quickly and with more resilience
☑️ Make decisions with greater trust in yourself
☑️ Find that life is a lot less overwhelming
☑️ Start enjoying exploring pursuits, hobbies, and opportunities
Lionhearted has had the honor of assisting clients at every stage, from the initial session and follow-up visits to deeper work and, finally, the moment they feel confident enough to move forward on their own.
If you’re interested in finding out how counseling could help, we’ll be right here. 🦁💙

💙 GOOD READ OF THE MONTH 💙
It’s not always easy to understand self-sabotage, especially when you want to make changes but find yourself falling back into old habits.
In “The Mountain Is You”, author Brianna Wiest looks at the emotional habits, fears, and inner blocks that can keep people stuck, even when they want something better for themselves.
This book takes a thoughtful look at self-awareness, resilience, and how you can turn your inner obstacles into a better understanding of yourself.

Growing and improving as a person can be easier when your environment supports who you want to become. 💡
You don’t need to change everything or spend money you don’t have. Just start by taking a simple look at your surroundings.
👥 Are the people around you supporting the changes you want to make?
📚 Do you have room for rest, inspiration, and things that make life enjoyable?
🧠 Are you aware of the distractions, stress, or obstacles that keep pulling you off track?
To set yourself up for success, create conditions that make it easier to stick with your goals.
Make your space, routines, and support system work for you, not against you!

Intrusive thoughts can mean very different things depending on the emotional and clinical context.
In OCD, unwanted intrusive thoughts do not mean someone wants to act on them, will become violent, or has poor impulse control.
This article breaks down the distinction and why understanding it matters:

Intrusive Thoughts: Clarifying the Confusion Unwanted intrusive thoughts can include a range of thoughts, feelings, and images. Depending on the emotional and pathological context, they can represent vastly different phenomena.

Is it possible to become addicted to love, the anchor of all human connection? 🤔
Hyperfixation or obsession with romance, care, or togetherness has little to do with love itself.
Some people simply believe that their self-worth only matters when they’re chosen, valued, or needed by others.
They might always require reassurance or they may be afraid of being alone. They may move too quickly into intimacy, lose personal boundaries, or stay in difficult relationships because distance feels impossible to bear.
👉 Wanting closeness is not the problem. It’s the pain that shows up when you see attachment as the only way to feel valuable.
If you’re worried about a friend, partner, or family member, talking with a professional can help them understand what’s behind these patterns.
Lionhearted is here to listen, help explore what’s going on, and provide support in finding the next steps. 🦁💙

It's natural to want to help someone you care about when they’re going through difficulties. 💭
Sometimes, that means stepping in and helping them connect with therapy.
However, if an adult is able to make their own decisions about care, they still need to agree to therapy. Taking control without their permission can be overwhelming, even if you mean well. 💡
You can still help by gently sharing what you have noticed, offering helpful resources, and making it easier for them to get support when they are ready.
If you are worried about their immediate safety, it may be important to get urgent help from professionals.
But sometimes, just being there, showing you care, and being available is enough to help someone move toward getting help. 🦁💙
