TWO suspected members of a gang of four armed robbers who raided a Mukuru Money Transfer agency at Zuva Service Station near Mabelreign shops this afternoon have been arrested.
The gang stole US$5 000 and 80 000 Rand.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the latest development.
“Yes, I can confirm there was a robbery incident that occurred in Harare today which involved four armed robbers. Among them, two were apprehended by Zimbabwe Republic Police together with the members of the public, while another two ran away after a scuffle,” said Comm Nyathi.
He commended the public for cooperating with the ZRP in apprehending the suspects.
“We are urging the public to work closely with the ZRP to combat crime,” he added.
A manhunt for the other two escaped robbers is currently underway.

A viral video showing a man cooking sadza in the open in Harare’s central business district has ignited a debate over poverty, urban vending and government policy in Zimbabwe.
The footage, which circulated widely on social media, appears to show the man preparing sadza at night, apparently for sale, an unusual sight in the city centre.
According to Mahere, no one willingly chooses to cook and sell sadza in the middle of the night on the streets unless they are driven by extreme necessity.
However she pushed back against that view, saying the man’s actions should be understood within the broader economic context facing many citizens.
