As we begin a new week, we're reflecting on how far we've come and feeling excited about where we're headed.
What started as a vision to farm sustainably and create opportunities for women in agriculture has grown into something much bigger than we imagined. Today, our hydroponic systems are producing crops, our solar system is powering sustainable operations, and our farm has become a vibrant learning hub for women agripreneurs.

But perhaps the most important thing we've built isn't the infrastructure.
It's the opportunity..... Opportunity for women to learn new skills. Opportunity to embrace climate-smart agriculture. .. Opportunity to build thriving agribusinesses and create a better future for their families and communities.

As we look across the farm today, we're reminded that every challenge, every lesson, and every milestone is a part of a much bigger journey.

And we're just getting started.

What started as a small family farm with a dream to produce healthy food sustainably has evolved into something far greater. Through determination, innovation, and the support of our partners, Wenashe Farms is transforming into a hub for climate-smart agriculture, learning, and women's empowerment.

🌱 THE GREAT TRANSITION

There are moments in life when you look around and realise that a dream is slowly becoming reality.

Just a few years ago, Wenashe Farms was a small family farm with a simple but ambitious vision: to produce healthy food sustainably while creating opportunities for women and young people in our community.

Today, that vision has evolved dramatically and is taking shape in ways we could only imagine.

Through the Transitioning from Soil to Soilless Project, supported by EEP Africa, we have transformed our farm into a learning and demonstration hub where women agripreneurs are gaining practical skills in hydroponic farming, renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, and agribusiness.

This month is especially meaningful to us as we reflect on a major milestone in our journey. In June 2025, we officially opened our doors to the inaugural cohort of women agripreneurs, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Wenashe Farms.

Last week, we had the privilege of hosting two important visits at Wenashe Farms — a partnership visit from Women in Agriculture Union -WAU , and a separate technical support visit from the Head Agronomist and Technical Head: Crop Protection from ETG Agri Inputs Zimbabwe.

What made these moments especially meaningful was the continued partnership and support from WAU towards the women agripreneurs in our Soil to Soilless journey. It is truly heartwarming to walk alongside these women as they begin to chart their own individual paths in climate-smart agriculture — each one contributing towards building more sustainable and resilient food systems in Zimbabwe.

The engagement with the ETG agronomy team brought valuable technical depth to our work, with practical insights around nutrient management, system optimisation, and the day-to-day discipline required in hydroponic production.

Together, these visits reflect what building Wenashe Farms is really about — not just growing crops, but building systems, strengthening people, and learning through collaboration.

We are grateful for partners and institutions that walk this journey with us, not ahead of us.
