Advice for today:
For a home septic tank, two compartments are better than one. They separate solids better and help protect the soakaway from clogging.
Also, never place a soakaway right next to the tank or building wall. Leave enough safe distance for proper drainage and to protect the structure.
If building new, choose two compartments and plan the properly.
