Happy Sabbath to you our friends

Yesterday could have been bad, but it shouldn't imprison you.
This morning is evidence that God has given you another beginning.

Tonight’s Hope
You may sometimes feel guilty for saying no, stepping back, or choosing not to carry another burden. But having a good heart does not mean you must exhaust yourself to prove that you care.

Even Jesus withdrew from the crowds to rest and pray. You are allowed to have limits. Protecting your peace is not the same as abandoning the people you love. You need that time alone and just to rest, relax and away from the burdens of others.

“Come ye yourselves apart… and rest a while.” Mark 6:31

Tonight, release the guilt of not being everything to everyone. You can love deeply without carrying what was never yours to carry.

Today’s Hope - To Those that feel They're Physically Not Good enough.

You may have days when you look at yourself and notice everything you wish were different your body, your appearance, the changes life has left on you. But please don't turn your own reflection into a place of cruelty.

Your body has carried you through days that nearly broke your heart. It deserves care, not constant criticism.

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:14

Today, speak to yourself with kindness. You don't have to become somebody else before you are worthy of loving the person God created you to be.

Tonight’s Hope
Carrying responsibilities can sometimes make you feel as though you are not allowed to become tired because people depend on you, problems still need solving, and there is always something more you wish you could do.

But tonight, remember this: being tired does not mean you are weak, and resting does not mean you are giving up. You were never meant to carry everything without stopping.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

For tonight, put down what can wait until tomorrow. God does not require you to finish everything before He allows you to rest.

The Money I Wasn’t Supposed to Find

I found the money because my husband asked me to look for his insurance card.

He had been admitted to hospital after collapsing at work. Nothing life-threatening, the doctor assured me, but they wanted to keep him overnight.

While he slept, I searched through his wallet.

Behind an old receipt was a folded deposit slip.

I almost ignored it.

Then I saw the amount.

There was more money in that account than we had managed to save in our entire marriage.

My hands started shaking.

For nearly a year, we had been struggling. I had stopped buying clothes. We had postponed repairs on our leaking roof. Twice, I had borrowed money from my sister for groceries.

Whenever I asked my husband whether we had anything left after the bills, his answer was always the same.

“Nothing.”

When he woke up, I placed the slip beside him.

“What is this?”

He stared at it for a long time.

Then he told me.

For eleven months, he had been secretly putting money aside.

Not for another woman.

Not because he planned to leave.

His younger brother had developed a gambling problem and had already borrowed heavily from relatives. My husband was terrified that if anyone knew we had savings, his family would pressure him to rescue his brother again.

“So you hid it from me too?” I asked.

He said he thought he was protecting our future.

I understood why he had hidden the money from his family.

What hurt was realizing that somewhere along the way, he had decided I couldn't be trusted with the truth either.

We didn't solve everything in that hospital room.

I was relieved that the money wasn't connected to an affair or another secret life. But relief didn't erase the deception.

That night taught me that people can hide things for reasons that sound loving and still deeply hurt the people they love.

Sometimes the hardest betrayal isn't what someone did with the secret.

It's discovering they never trusted you enough to share it.

If your spouse secretly saved money to protect your family's future, but allowed you to struggle because you didn't know it existed. would you see that as wisdom, or betrayal?

Story inspired by real-life experiences.

Tonight’s Hope

You may have spent so much time trying to be strong for everyone else that you sometimes forget you also deserve gentleness. You don't always have to be the one who fixes things, provides answers, holds everyone together, or hides your own struggles so others can lean on you.

Tonight, allow yourself to simply be God’s child not the helper, not the problem-solver, not the strong one. Just His child, loved and cared for.

“As a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.” Psalm 103:13

Rest tonight knowing this: the hands that have been carrying others are also being held by God.
