🌿 HYQE CLUB: WEDNESDAY BEHIND-THE-SCENES

We don’t just walk through places. We walk with respect.

Every trail has a story. Every landscape has a history. And every community has a culture worth understanding.

At Hyqe Club, we believe adventure comes with responsibility; to respect the land, honour its stories, care for the places we visit and show respect to the people and cultures connected to them.

Being an Earth Walker isn’t just about where your feet take you...but also about how you leave the place behind. 🌿

Walk with respect. Walk with purpose. Walk the land.

👣🌍 WALKERS WORLD FRIDAY

Motivational reminder:

Some memories are made around a table...others are made somewhere between the first step and the last.

Every trail you walk leaves you with something; a view you didn’t expect, a conversation you’ll remember, a laugh you didn’t plan for or simply a moment where you stopped and took it all in.

Every trail walked is a story added to your life’s journey.

So... step outside!!! Take the road less travelled and make a few memories along the way.☀️

HYQE CLUB : WEDNESDAY BEHIND-THE-SCENES 🥾

Blister prevention starts BEFORE the hike

Nobody wants a beautiful trail to turn into a painful shuffle halfway through. 😅

A few simple things can make a big difference:

👟 Wear-in your hiking shoes : Don’t make the trail their first outing.
🧦 Choose good hiking socks : Moisture-wicking and a comfortable fit matter.
🦶 Check your feet before you go : Hot spots, irritation or rough areas can become problems quickly.
💧 Keep your feet as dry as possible : Moisture + friction is a recipe for blisters.
🎒 Carry blister protection : A small piece of tape or blister plaster can save your hike.

Most importantly; listen to your feet. If you feel a hot spot developing, deal with it early rather than waiting for a blister to form.

A little preparation before you hit the trail can make a BIG difference once you're out there.

Happy trails, Earth Walkers! 🌍

👣🌍 WALKERS WORLD FRIDAY

🏃🏿‍♂️ 516 days. More than 12,440 km. From Cape Town to London.

What would make someone run that far???

For Ugandan runner Deo Kato , it was about much more than endurance. His incredible journey was a way of raising awareness about racism, migration and the shared story of humanity.

He crossed countries, borders and some incredibly challenging terrain, facing illness, financial struggles, imprisonment and racism along the way. But... the journey also brought moments of kindness; strangers offering food, shelter and support and communities and children joining him along the road.

Through every difficult kilometer, Kato kept moving forward.

From his journey we learn that the road can teach us things that no destination ever could. About resilience. About hope. About people....and about how much we have in common, despite the borders that separate us.

The most powerful journeys aren't about reaching the finish line but what you discover along the way.

Heritage is more than where we come from.
It is the stories we carry, the traditions we keep, the people who shaped us and the land beneath our feet.

South Africa is a beautiful mix of cultures, languages, histories and traditions...each one adding to the story of who we are.

Hyqe Club believes that sometimes the best way to connect with our heritage is simply to walk the land, listen to its stories and appreciate what came before us.

Today, we honour our past, celebrate our diversity and look forward to what we can leave behind for those who come after us.

Happy Heritage Day fellow Earth Walkers🌍

👣🌍 WALKERS WORLD FRIDAY

Hyqe Club condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the killings of women in our country.

Behind every one of these lives is a daughter, a mother, a sister, a wife, a friend, a colleague...a human being whose life mattered and whose family deserved to see her come home.

Women’s lives matter. No woman should have to live in fear of walking, running, travelling, going to work, enjoying the outdoors or simply moving through her own community. Women deserve to live among all of us with dignity, freedom and without fear.

As a community that believes in bringing people together through the outdoors, we cannot remain silent when women are being robbed of that same freedom and sense of safety. We mourn the lives lost, stand with the families carrying unimaginable pain and call for justice, accountability and meaningful action to protect women in our communities.

A woman should not have to be brave just to live her life...she should be safe. Let us look out for one another, speak up and refuse to normalise violence against women. Their lives matter. Their safety matters. Their freedom matters. 🖤
