Walk in Faith
Walk in Faith is a non-profit organisation in Richards Bay that aims to care for vulnerable children and families with the help and guidance of volunteers.
TODAY, OUR HEARTS ARE HEAVY… BUT ALSO INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL.
Today was one of those days that reminds us just how much suffering is happening right here on our doorstep.
The heat was almost unbearable. The kind of heat that makes you want to stay indoors, away from the scorching sun.
Yet today, 7 people came knocking on our door, desperately looking for something to eat.
Some were familiar faces. Others were people we had never met before.
Some arrived sunburnt from walking in the heat. Others were drenched in sweat, looking completely exhausted.
One person walked all the way from Wildenweide with two children, hoping to find something to put in their stomachs.
But one particular visit broke our hearts.
An elderly granny arrived on crutches, accompanied by her daughter. They had not eaten for TWO DAYS.
Two whole days.
Can you imagine the desperation it takes for someone already struggling to walk, to make their way through the scorching heat, just to ask for a little food?
And the hardest part?
We didn't have enough groceries to give them a proper food parcel.
Our cupboards are running low, and the need is growing faster than we can keep up.
But by God's grace, we managed to put a little something together.
It wasn't much. Perhaps enough to get them through a day or two.
But at least they didn't have to go home hungry or empty-handed.
And do you know what touched us the most?
Their gratitude.
Not one complained about how little they received. Instead, they were genuinely thankful for every single item.
It was another reminder that God provides in His perfect timing, sometimes through the smallest acts of kindness.
Something else happened today that really touched our hearts.
We asked some of the new faces how they knew where to find us.
One lady replied:
"A lady at the mall told us that we would definitely get something to eat here."
And another gentleman said something we won't easily forget:
"Tannie is soos die ma van die dorp wie almal ken."
Those words meant more than he will ever know.
Because that is what Walk in Faith has always been about.
Not recognition. Not praise. Not numbers.
Just being a place where someone who has nowhere else to turn can knock on a door and know that somebody cares.
We cannot always help everyone. We cannot give what we don't have. And some days, having to turn someone away or give them less than they need is incredibly difficult.
But we will continue doing what we can with whatever God places in our hands.
Because sometimes, what seems like so little to us means absolutely everything to someone who has nothing.
Tonight, we ask you to think about those seven visitors.
Think about the little children walking in the heat.
Think about the granny on crutches who hadn't eaten in two days.
And think about how many more families are quietly suffering behind closed doors, too embarrassed or too afraid to ask for help.
Hunger is not always somewhere far away. Sometimes it is walking down our streets, standing in our shopping centres, or knocking on the door next to ours.
To our community, thank you for every donation, every prayer, every bag of groceries and every act of kindness.
You are the reason we can still open our door and offer something, even when our cupboards are almost bare.
And to God, all the glory. Even on the hardest days, He reminds us why we must keep walking in faith.
If you are in a position to help us put food back into our cupboards, please consider donating. No amount and no grocery item is too small.
Because tomorrow, someone else may come knocking.
And our greatest wish is to have something to give them.
Walk in Faith — People helping people, one act of love at a time.👣

Some days are heavy.
The shelves are empty.
The requests are many.
The funds are low.
The need feels bigger than what we can carry.
But then one person gives.
One family is helped.
One child smiles.
One burden becomes lighter.
And we remember why we keep going.
Faith.
Kindness.
Community.
Hope.

This is not just charity.
It is dignity.
It is relief.
It is a child going to school with lunch.
It is a mother knowing there is food for supper.
It is an elderly person feeling remembered.
It is a family breathing a little easier.
Every donation says:
“You are not alone.”
That is what this work is really about.

Basic toiletries may seem small, but for a family in need, they mean dignity.
Walk in Faith is currently collecting toiletries to help families, children and individuals in our community who are struggling with everyday essentials.
We are in need of items such as:
* Soap
* Toothpaste
* Toothbrushes
* Shampoo
* Conditioner
* Roll-on
* Body lotion
* Sanitary pads
* Face cloths
* Wet wipes
* Any basic hygiene items
No donation is too small. One bar of soap, one toothbrush or one packet of pads can make a real difference to someone who needs it.
These items help restore more than hygiene. They restore confidence, dignity and the feeling that someone cares.
Thank you for continuing to help us support our community with kindness, love and practical care.
