Zandam Italian Cheese

Zandam has a truly unique heritage.

Our name derives from the farm in the Western Cape where it all started. We might make AUTHENTICALLY ITALIAN cheese, but our land is named for a city in the Netherlands. And we kept it as a name, proud of our link to this stretch of land.
Tino, Mauro and Giovanna might speak impeccable English (AND Afrikaans!), but they are intrinsically connected to their Italian heritage and their beautiful mother tongue…not to mention having Delle Donne as a surname.

We are Zandam. We are Italian. We are South African.
But, most importantly, we are PROUD of it all!

We can finally share more details of our upcoming collaboration in Gauteng!
We searched high and low for the right venue and the right chef, and we’ve come up with the perfect combo.
Chef Hanroe Erasmus will be cooking up a fantastic feast at a warm and inviting family home in Pretoria.
His food, and this house all underscore our values of famiglia, connection and togetherness. This is a Homecoming.
Ex Animo W**e Co. will be bringing some of their best wines, perfectly paired with each course.

Today will always be a poignant day for the Delle Donne family. Our matriarch, and the best ricotta maker ever, passed away 31 years ago. Iolanda Delle Donne. We miss her, we love her, and we honour her in all we do.
