Every Thursday LifeLine Northern Cape team wear BLACK and we wear it with purpose🖤
Communities are always urged to "Speak Out" against violence and abuse, but not many are confident enough to voice their disapproval.
We wear black as a sign of grieving, fighting and empathizing. We stand in solidarity with all victims and survivors of Gender-Based Violence & Femicide, r**e, abuse, molestation, human trafficking, and all forms of violence and crime. We are standing together to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and NOT IN MY NAME!
Lifeline Northern Cape started Thursday In Black movement on 23 March 2017 and since then, we have been wearing black every Thursday to raise awareness and to challenge everyone to put action behind their words.
We are LifeLine Northern Cape and we will not stay silent.✊🏽🖤

Who Takes Care of the People Who Build?
On behalf of the Economic Justice Advocacy Group, through an engagement led by Sasopsbiz Foundation we invite you to join us for an important virtual dialogue exploring the relationship between mental wellbeing, entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and economic justice.
The dialogue will bring together RWVL grantees, partners, funders, prospective funders, social entrepreneurs and civil society leaders to reflect on the often overlooked wellbeing of the people behind businesses, social enterprises and organisations working to create change.
In recognition of World Mental Health Day, this conversation will create a space to discuss the pressures, challenges and emotional wellbeing of those who build, lead and drive economic empowerment and social change.
Join us for a meaningful conversation on building sustainable organisations while also taking care of the people who make the work possible.

Building Inclusive Communities Through Dialogue, Education and Understanding 🌍🤝🏽
Today, we are in Britstown, Northern Cape, for the first community dialogue with mothers and daughters through the collaboration between LifeLine Northern Cape and the Department of Social Development (DSD).
As part of this initiative, I will be facilitating a one-hour session exploring SOGIESC (S*xual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and S*x Characteristics), transgender inclusion, and neurodiversity.
The session aims to create awareness, challenge misconceptions, and encourage meaningful conversations about diversity, identity, acceptance, and the importance of creating safe and inclusive spaces for everyone.
These conversations matter because our families and communities are often the first places where people seek understanding, belonging, and support. By equipping people with knowledge and encouraging empathy, we can challenge stigma, strengthen relationships, and foster environments where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
The collaboration between LifeLine Northern Cape and the Department of Social Development demonstrates the value of partnerships in bringing important social issues directly to communities and making education accessible beyond traditional spaces.
I remain passionate about advancing human rights, promoting LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and ensuring that conversations about diversity are accessible, respectful, and grounded in lived experiences.
Inclusion begins with understanding, and understanding begins with conversation.
Here’s to building communities where our differences are not a reason for exclusion, but an opportunity to learn, connect, and grow together. 🏳️⚧️💜

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
This World Mental Health Day, let’s remember that mental health matters for everyone.
It’s okay not to be okay. Your feelings are valid, asking for help is a sign of strength, and no one should have to face their struggles alone.
Let’s break the stigma, create safe spaces for open conversations, and support one another with compassion, understanding, and kindness.
Together, let’s build stronger minds and healthier communities. You are not alone, and your mental health matters.
