Angels' Care was established to address the needs of desperately poor children from the local informa (NPO 020-084, PBO 930004928).

Angels' Care was established by concerned residents in the Umngeni Municipal area to address the needs of desperately poor children from the local informal settlements. The aim of the organisation is to focus on assisting children through the provision of pre-school education, aftercare facilities, a feeding scheme and heath care programmes, including a crisis centre for children who are victims of gender based violence. Angels Care is registered as both a Non Profit and Public Benefit Organisation. As a result of generous donations over a period of time we have been able to acquire our own premises. These consist of a 100 year old house purchased in 2009, a caretakers cottage, 3 new classrooms build in 2010 and a crisis centre built in 2015 at 38 Morling Street Howick, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

✈️🌍 A LITTLE LATE, BUT TOO BEAUTIFUL NOT TO SHARE!

On 23 September, our Early Childhood Development (ECD) preschoolers set off on an unforgettable journey around the globe to celebrate Heritage Day!

Our amazing teachers transformed each classroom into a new country, giving our little explorers a chance to immerse themselves in the rich heritage, vibrant music, traditional dress, delicious foods, and basic greetings of:

🇺🇸 America
🇨🇳 China
🇮🇹 Italy
🇲🇽 Mexico
🇮🇳 India
🇿🇦 Africa

Every child was issued their very own passport, getting it stamped as they "traveled" from room to room across the school! 🛂🎒 It was such a creative, joyful day of learning, celebrating diversity, and discovering the beautiful cultures that make our world so special.

Swipe through to see our little globetrotters in action! 👇

Bridging oceans, changing lives, and learning together. 🌍✈️💡

Our team—, Carolyn Hancock (Chairlady of Angels Care and Deputy Chair of Thembelihle), Georgie Purdon (Director of Advancement and Communications) and Ntokozo Zondi (Head of Senior Phase & Mathematics at Thembelihle)—recently returned from an inspiring trip to Brentwood, Nashville, Tennessee!

During the visit, they reconnected with our incredible sponsors and donors from Brentwood United Methodist Church and CUSP. Across two moving fundraising dinners, key meetings, and report-backs, our team shared stories of real transformation happening every day at Angels Care and Thembelihle School.

It was also a wonderful opportunity for learning and collaboration! The team visited a local STEM school to gather fresh educational insights, as well as 'The Store'—an inspiring NPO focusing on nutrition for families in need. Experiencing their community empowerment model firsthand provided invaluable inspiration for our own outreach work.

It was deeply humbling to witness just how much the care and education of our children mean to people living thousands of miles away from us.

These are partnerships built on shared values, deep trust, and a unified vision for a brighter future. We will never take these relationships for granted and are beyond grateful for the unwavering generosity and love shown to our community.

Thank you, Nashville, for your warmth, generosity, and inspiring example! 💙✨

World Teacher's Day!

Before a child can learn, they need to feel safe, nourished, and loved. ✨

At Angels Care Pre-School, our teachers lie at the heart of our mission to care for the holistic development of our children—body, mind, and spirit. They do far more than teach the basics; they create a sanctuary of learning, laughter, and emotional support, offering the nutrition, care, and guidance every child needs to thrive.

This , we honour our preschool educators who plant the seeds of confidence, resilience, and hope in our 3- to 6-year-olds.

Thank you to our dedicated team for your warmth, endless patience, and unwavering commitment to shaping brighter futures from the very beginning. You are true angels in our children’s lives. 💙

EVERY NAME HAS A DREAM, EVERY DREAM HAS A FUTURE!

At Angels Care Pre-School, we believe that education is so much more than learning letters and numbers—it is the key that unlocks a child's potential and transforms lives for generations to come.

Our little ones spent time practicing writing their names on their very own crayons! Every single name represents a unique child with endless potential. Quality early education gives them the foundation to dream big, stand tall, and paint a future with as much colour, joy, and hope as they choose! ✨

As the sign says: "Life is about using the whole box of crayons!" 🖍️💛

None of this would be possible without our incredible donors, sponsors and staff. Your generosity creates the safe space, resources, and bright classrooms where these dreams take root every single day. Thank you for investing in their futures and believing in our mission.

🌿 GRADE R'S WILD ADVENTURE AT HILTON COLLEGE! 🦒☀️

Our Grade R learners had the most magical day out on their special excursion to Hilton College!

Surrounded by beautiful sunshine, the children enjoyed a wonderful picnic on the grounds before heading off on an exciting game drive.

It was an incredible, hands-on learning experience as our little explorers spotted so many amazing wild animals out in nature, linking perfectly with their classroom learning theme! Seeing their faces light up with every animal sighting was unforgettable. 🦌✨

A very special, heartfelt THANK YOU to Hilton College for hosting our Grade R classes, providing such incredible access to their reserve, and making this unforgettable day possible. Your continued support and partnership mean the world to our children and the entire Angels Care family! 💙👏

🎉 LETTERLAND DAY AT ANGELS CARE PRE-SCHOOL! 🅰️🔤🎉

Our pre-school campus was bursting with excitement and creativity last week as all our little learners celebrated Letterland Day! 🎭✨

From Annie Apple to Zig Zag Zebra, our classrooms were filled with amazing costumes as the children dressed up as their favorite Letterland characters. Seeing their faces light up as they brought their phonetic sounds to life made the day so special!

At Angels Care, we know that building strong early literacy skills is the foundation for lifelong learning. Days like today prove that learning phonics and exploring new sounds can be an absolute adventure.

A huge thank you to our incredible teachers for organizing such a magical day, and to our wonderful parents and caregivers for all the effort put into those amazing costumes! 🌟👏

🔥 URGENT APPEAL: Help us get a student back to school.

Tragedy struck one of the bright high school students in our after-school program when a devastating fire destroyed her family’s home. She lost everything—her clothes, her personal belongings, and her school uniform.

While we are deeply grateful that she and her family are safe, she is currently unable to attend class simply because she has no uniform to wear, making an already traumatic situation so much harder.

Our emergency relief fund is currently depleted, so we are turning to our compassionate community. We need to raise R615 to replace her full uniform so she can return to school immediately. (We are just looking to get one of everything now to get her back to school as soon as possible)

Uniform Cost Breakdown:
Jersey: R250
Skirt: R195
Shirt: R80
Tie: R50
Socks: R40
Total needed: R615

No amount is too small—even R40 for a pair of socks gets her one step closer to going back.
