EXPLOSIVES RECOVERED DURING BHT PATROL

DATE: 5 OCTOBER 2026
ADDRESS: CLOVERDENE, BENONI

REPORT:
While conducting routine patrols in Cloverdene, Benoni, Blue Hawk Tactical members identified an individual suspected of being involved in illegal mining activities.

When members attempted to stop the individual, he fled on foot. Blue Hawk Tactical members gave chase, during which the suspect abandoned a bag before continuing to flee.

The suspect managed to evade responding members. On inspection of the abandoned bag, explosives were discovered, and the area was secured.

SAPS was immediately notified of the recovery, and the explosives were handed over for further investigation and processing.

No arrests were made, and further investigation is underway.

While on patrol along the R23/R550, Blue Hawk Tactical officers stopped to assist a female SAPS officer whose patrol vehicle had suffered wheel damage.

The officer was awaiting a mechanic, and our team remained on hand to offer assistance and support.

HIJACKED TRUCK RECOVERED | KIDNAPPED VICTIM FOUND

DATE: 6 OCTOBER 2026
ADDRESS: BOKSBURG

REPORT:
Following information received regarding a truck hijacking and kidnapping in Boksburg, SAPS and multiple security partners mobilised to assist.

The incident occurred after individuals posing as prospective buyers arranged to view a truck that had been advertised for sale. During a test drive, the employee driving the truck was allegedly overpowered and kidnapped.

A ransom was demanded for the victim’s release.

A coordinated search by responding units resulted in the hijacked truck being successfully located in the Boksburg area. The kidnapped victim was also found safe.

No arrests have been reported at this stage. Further investigations are underway to identify and locate those responsible.

STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED

REPORT:
Following a SaferCity alert received regarding a stolen vehicle in Bedfordview, security and tracking partners mobilised to the area.

The stolen Ford Ranger was successfully located abandoned, with no suspects found with the vehicle.

Available camera footage was reviewed and indicated that a suspect had fled the area after abandoning the vehicle.

Cartrack and multiple security partners attended the recovery scene, while the SaferCity Control Room dispatched SAPS to assist.

SAPS arrived and continued with the necessary investigation.
