Congratulation to Equality Australia, the Darling 2026!

The Darling award for inters*x allyship is presented to an Australian or Aotearoa/NZ allied organisation, group or individual who has gone above and beyond just affirming the Darlington Statement.

This year Equality Australia received multiple nominations for their dedication to elevating inters*x voices, pushing forward legislation to protect people from nonconsensual medical interventions in Victoria and their work in producing the Missing Voice Report.

Equality Australia, you are truly the Darling of the Australian & Aotearoa inters*x movement šŸ’›šŸ’œšŸ’›šŸ’œšŸ’›

International Inters*x Awareness Day is next week on October 26th.
2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the event that we remember: on 26 October 1996, inters*x people and allies first held a public demonstration, outside a paediatric medicine conference in Boston from which they had been excluded. We celebrate their actions, and the work of advocates before and since to promote justice for all people with innate variations of s*x characteristics!

Around this historic day InterAction will be hosting a free lunch-time webinar on "The case for legislative protections for inters*x people in NSW" on Friday 30th of October 12pm AEDT
