We are investigating a report of a pink liquid flowing from a stormwater drain into the Yarra River, in the Melbourne CBD.
Avoid contact as a precaution.

Avoid contact with discoloured water in Darebin Creek, in the Darebin Parklands area.
We are investigating further to protect the environment and enforce the law.

A 70m long burn site told the story. Waste tyres, treated timbers, chemical drums.
When not safely and lawfully disposed, these leach chemicals into soil and groundwater.
Illegally burning or burying farm waste has serious consequences.
Help us protect our community and environment. If you spot rubbish being buried, burned or dumped, don’t look away.
Report it to EPA.

We are investigating the source of a sewage-like waste material impacting the local waterway. Greater Western Water is also onsite.

Yarra Watch and Warrandyte is rated Good. Healesville is rated Fair. Kew, and Launching Place are rated Poor.
What do Good, Fair, and Poor mean?
• Good predicts that recreational water quality is suitable for swimming
• Fair means that recreational water quality is good but could be affected by rainfall particularly if the beach is close to a stormwater outlet
• Poor is a warning which means you should avoid contact with the water
