The Altman Program in International Studies & Business Altman Program Scholars earn two degrees -- a B.A. from the School of Liberal Arts and a B.S.M. from the A.

The Altman Program in International Studies & Business is a special four-year interdisciplinary undergraduate course of study that integrates advanced language training, business and liberal arts education. B. Freeman School of Business – combining practical and theoretical knowledge of global economies with deep cultural and linguistic competency. Altman scholars specialize in an area of the world in which their chosen foreign language is spoken and graduate with a nuanced understanding of the political, economic and cultural complexities of our contemporary world. The Altman Program prepares students to become leaders in today’s increasingly interconnected world. Such leaders must be adaptable to changing professional and cultural circumstances and need flexible broad-based skill-sets to adjust their professional goals to changing opportunities and markets. Above all, they also need to communicate effectively with citizens of their own and other cultures. The challenging dual-degree curriculum provides students with a broad liberal arts perspective and a practical business education that will enable them to be successful in a variety of career paths, whether in finance, politics, public policy, consulting, law, marketing, medicine, diplomacy, non-profit management, public health and/or international development. The Altman Program provides students with an Altman-specific experience each semester, a common study abroad trip between freshman and sophomore years, and financial support for junior year abroad and internships. The program was established thanks to the generosity of Tulane alumni Jeffrey Altman and welcomes its inaugural class in Fall 2012.

Hey, my name is Corey Flyer, and I am from Long Island, New York. My Altman target language is Spanish, and I plan to major in Finance and either Economics or Political Economy. During high school, I was apart of my school’s Mock Trial team, Model Congress team, and was the editor-in-chief of my school’s digital newspaper. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing tennis and golf, and watching the NHL and NFL. During my time as an Altman scholar and Tulane student, I hope to make strong connections and explore new interests.

Hi!! My name is Maxine Didovic, and I am from Hastings, NY. My Altman Target Language is French, and I hope to study Gender & Sexuality Studies and Legal Studies in Business! I’m very interested in global political issues and public policy, as well as reading and writing. In my free time I love to work with kids, paint, stay active and go into NYC with my friends. I’ve spent lots of time working with kids at a nearby elementary school and have assisted with teaching a children’s art class! At Tulane, I hope to explore and experience many new cultures and experiences within the student community, New Orleans, and the places I’ll visit abroad through Altman!

Hi!! My name is Valmor De Almeida, and I’m from Texas. My Altman target language is Spanish, and I plan to study Finance and Political Economy. In my free time, I really enjoy backpacking/travel, going to the gym, and music festivals! In school, I cofounded a non profit for breast cancer, and really enjoy helping people by utilizing my strengths. A goal I have for myself at Tulane is to continue to push myself to grow emotionally and to come out of Tulane as my favorite version of myself.

My name is Juan-Andres Quezada. I’m from Rogers, Arkansas, and my target language is Spanish. My main academic interests revolve around International Relations (Polemology has been a particular focus recently) and Finance. Outside of academics I love watching sports (particularly soccer, football, basketball and hockey), being active in the community, and building/working with computers as a hobby. My main goal throughout my college journey is to improve myself as an individual and a member of the larger Altman >> Tulane >> New Orleans >> Global communities.
