🐾 COURTESY POST – A Tiny Survivor Looking for a Loving Home 🐾

Sometimes the smallest hearts have the biggest stories.

This precious little kitten was rescued after her mama was sadly struck by a vehicle. One sibling has already found a loving home, and now this sweet baby is hoping someone will open their heart to her too.

She is believed to be 6–8 weeks old (we’re not completely sure if this little one is a boy or a girl just yet). She is litter box trained, loves to snuggle and cuddle, and is happiest curled up close to her people. She may even make the perfect porch companion, enjoying the outdoors while still having a safe place to call home.

This is a courtesy post, so this kitten is not at the Humane Society of St. Thomas. We’re simply helping a kind community member find this little survivor the loving family she deserves.

❤️ We are excited to let you know that both Tampa and Coco have received several adoption applications! ❤️

Our team is now carefully reviewing each application to make sure we find the very best match for these deserving pups. We know everyone is eager to see them in loving homes, and we appreciate your patience as we work through the process.

🐶 Earl insists he was born to play Duke, Jed Clampett’s loyal hound from The Beverly Hillbillies. Just look at that face… doesn’t he belong riding in the back of the old truck headed to Beverly Hills?

🐶 Blossom, however, says, “Excuse me… I can play any role I want!” She has already claimed she deserves top billing and refuses to be left out of the movie. 🌸⭐

So we need YOU to settle this Hollywood debate…

🐾 Responsible Pet Ownership Starts With Us 🐾

Owning a pet is one of life’s greatest joys—but it’s also one of life’s greatest responsibilities.

Before bringing a dog or cat into your family, ask yourself:

❤️ Can I provide food and fresh water every day?
🏠 Do I have safe shelter from the hot sun, heavy rain, and storms? A chain tied to a tree is not a home.
💙 Can I provide regular veterinary care, vaccinations, heartworm prevention, flea and tick prevention, and treatment when my pet is sick?
✂️ Will I spay or neuter my pet to prevent unwanted litters?
🐕 Can I provide love, exercise, training, and companionship for the lifetime of my pet?

At the Humane Society of St. Thomas, we see the heartbreaking consequences of irresponsible pet ownership far too often.

We’ve had people arrive with multiple dogs—sometimes entire litters, or even eight or more dogs from one household—and simply ask us to euthanize them because they were no longer wanted.

Please understand… that’s not why we’re here.

Every animal that walks through our doors is a living soul. They deserve compassion, a chance, and a future. Our staff and volunteers pour their hearts into giving these animals hope. When healthy, adoptable animals end up in our care because they were allowed to reproduce without limit, it places an enormous strain on our shelter, our volunteers, our finances, and our resources.

The Humane Society of St. Thomas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We depend heavily on donations, volunteers, and the generosity of our community to continue saving lives. Our resources are not unlimited.

The good news? This is a problem we can solve—together.

Spay and neuter your pets. Keep them on heartworm prevention. Provide proper shelter. Plan before adding another animal to your family. If you’re struggling, reach out early so we can help explore options before a situation becomes overwhelming.

Being a responsible pet owner isn’t just about loving your pet when it’s convenient. It’s means making a commitment to care for them every single day of their lives.

Together, we can reduce suffering, prevent unwanted litters, ease the burden on our shelter, and build a kinder future for the animals of St. Thomas.

They depend on us. Let’s be the people they deserve. 🐾❤️

Pictured below is our sweet Nebula. She was adopted out as a puppy. We thought that she would have a long lasting rest of her life love, safety and security but unfortunately, her pet owner left Island and left her with someone else who put her in a crate and set her next to the dumpster. Nebula deserves better.

🐾 What an Incredible Weekend at the Humane Society of St. Thomas! 🐾

Our hearts are full after an amazing weekend dedicated to helping both the people and animals of St. Thomas.

First and foremost, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Christian Veterinary Mission Team for sharing their time, talents, and hearts with our community. Your dedication made an incredible impact, and we are so thankful for your partnership.

The weekend actually kicked off on Thursday, when our own Dr. Williams joined forces with the Christian Veterinary Mission Team and the St. Thomas Reformed Church Kids Camp for a fun and educational morning. The students learned about the important work veterinarians do every day and even had the chance to practice placing stitches on teddy bears—an awesome hands-on activity dreamed up by Dr. Williams! We hope this experience inspired some future veterinarians and animal advocates. It was a wonderful morning filled with learning, laughter, and lots of curiosity.

The momentum continued throughout the weekend with our community clinics:

🐶 Friday
• 64 spay/neuter surgeries completed
• 12 pets cared for at our Wellness Clinic in Frenchtown

🐱 Saturday
• 56 spay/neuter surgeries completed
• 8 pets seen at our Wellness Clinic in Bordeaux

That’s an incredible 120 spay/neuter surgeries and 20 wellness appointments in just two days!

None of this happens without the support of our amazing volunteers, veterinary staff, the Christian Veterinary Mission Team, and YOU—our generous supporters. Every donation made to the Humane Society of St. Thomas helps provide lifesaving veterinary care, reduces pet overpopulation, and keeps beloved family pets healthier and happier throughout our island.

This adorable little pup was found on Wintberg Road near ABC Nursery and is hoping someone recognizes her.

🎂 Estimated to be under 2 years old (her teeth are beautiful with virtually no tartar)

She is an absolute sweetheart—friendly, affectionate, and loves to cuddle. She’s also very well behaved, which makes us think she may have a family missing her.

She is currently being cared for by a very temporary foster, but that foster can only keep her until tomorrow, so we are hoping to reunite her with her owner as quickly as possible.

This sweet male dog was brought to the Humane Society of St. Thomas after being found in Bovoni on August 1, 2026. While we search for his family, we’ve lovingly nicknamed him Tampa.

Tampa was found wandering along the side of the road and was so incredibly friendly that he happily went with his good Samaritan. Once he arrived at the shelter, he settled into a kennel in our lobby, where he spent his time wagging his tail and giving the sweetest little whines because he wanted to greet everyone who walked by. It’s clear this affectionate boy loves people.

Kindness knows no distance, and today we’re sending a very special thank you all the way to the mainland!

When we put out a call for help, Kristy answered in the most incredible way. She lovingly made these beautiful covers for our humane cat traps and shipped them all the way to us here at the Humane Society of St. Thomas.

These trap covers are so much more than fabric. They help reduce stress for frightened cats, provide comfort during transport, and make a real difference in the care we can give.

🚨 A Very Important Public Service Announcement from Blossom 🌸🐾

Hi, friends! Blossom here.

I need to clear something up because I’ve noticed some of you might not know the rules.

Whenever a dog stretches—especially a sweet shelter girl like me—you are required to immediately stop what you’re doing, smile really big, and say:

“Ooooooooh… biiiiig streeeeetch, Blossom!” 🥹💕

It’s not just polite… it’s the law. (Well… my law anyway.)

If you don’t, I may be forced to give you my best sad puppy eyes, let out an exaggerated sigh, and then try another stretch just to give you a second chance.

Now, if you’re the kind of person who always appreciates a good stretch, hands out belly rubs, and thinks every dog deserves a loving home… I think we’d get along just fine.

I’m still waiting here at the Humane Society of St. Thomas, practicing my stretches every day and hoping the next person who says, “Ooooooh… biiiiig streeeeetch!” is my forever family.
