McAllister Designs

Not every young artist will become a full time professional artist, and that has never been the only point.

This is Gabrielle Ferdinand with her completed landscape, Burning Blue Brothers.

Gabrielle began the piece during an art class at the SVG Community College, where students also participated in a mentorship session with Tropical Realism™ founder Sir Calvert Jones. It was especially rewarding to see her again with the finished work and to see what had emerged from something that was taking shape back then.

Today, in addition to being a fashion model, Gabrielle is pursuing a programme in Business Management at the SVGCC Division of Technical Studies.

And that, in many ways, is part of the story.

The value of art education is not measured only by how many professional artists it produces. Art develops observation, imagination, patience, confidence, problem solving and the discipline to take an idea from concept to completion.

Those qualities travel.

They travel into finance, business, technology, entrepreneurship and almost every other field.

That wider understanding of creativity is part of what Tropical Realism™ is being built around: identifying talent, encouraging development, creating opportunities for mentorship and helping young Caribbean people understand that their creative abilities have value, whether or not art eventually becomes their profession.

It was wonderful seeing you again, Gabrielle, and even better seeing the finished piece.

Keep creating. Keep learning. Keep building. 🇻🇨

McAllister Designs is now fully integrated into Tropical Realism™.
What began as a creative design and art practice has evolved into a larger Caribbean fine-art, cultural-IP, lifestyle, and gallery platform.

To keep everything unified, future updates, artwork releases, exhibitions, collector opportunities, smart souvenirs, and cultural projects will now continue through our main page: Tropical Realism™.

Thank you for being part of the journey from the beginning. The story continues, stronger, clearer, and more Caribbean than ever.
