Just a quick update to thank everyone that has donated so far....
Your donations mean so much. Every little helps.

So far we have used the donations to upgrade the living standards of our in house animals living at Salty Paws on Union Island.
We have also used donations for much needed medications such as flea and tick treatments, dewormers, antibiotics etc...

We have recently suffered a bad outbreak of Parvovirus in St.Vincent & the Grenadines, which is deadly to our furry friends, especially puppies.
Having seen the impact and sadness of losing some in front of our eyes made us realise the importance of vaccination early on.
CPV is highly contagious and there is no cure.
Sadly only the symptoms are treatable. It causes severe vomiting and diarrhoea which leads to extreme dehydration.
Approx 85% of dogs that are infected and do not receive in-hospital care will die !!!
We do not have Vets on Union Island.
We only have the basic supplies and little knowledge for minor health issues.

Parvovirus vaccines cost approximately 23 USD/16 Pounds each per shot, 2 are needed per dog.
So that’s 46 USD / 32 pounds per dog to be safe from Parvovirus and many other illnesses.
Booster shots are then needed later on to keepthe dogs healthy.

We would really love for it to be possible that we vaccinate every puppy that we meet.

The more donations we get, the more we can vaccinate our island dogs to prevent them from dying a horrible painful death.

Thank you for being part of our mission to get our islands dogs happy and healthy.
