✨ That’s a wrap on another show season! ✨

As we put away the show clothes, pack up the memories, and start looking forward to next season, don’t forget to give your dickies a little TLC before storing them away!

Proper cleaning and care now will help keep your collars looking beautiful and ready for the first show of next year. Here’s a quick guide:

🧼 Sewn-on collar decorations (bits or ribbon): These can be safely taken to the dry cleaner.

✨ Satin dickies: Always dry clean to protect the fabric and finish.

💧 Iron-on appliqué collars: These should be spot cleaned only with cool water and a little mild soap. Do NOT take these to the dry cleaner! The heat and chemicals used in the dry-cleaning process can melt the glue that holds the appliqués in place.

🔥 Need to press your dickies? They can be ironed, too!
- Cotton dickies can be ironed on a high heat setting.
- Satin dickies should be ironed on low heat to protect the fabric.

A little extra care now goes a long way in keeping your favorite show pieces looking their best!

✨ A winning look for a Reserve Grand National Champion! ✨

Congratulations to Lauren Marshall on her Reserve Grand National title in the Versatile Morgan Finals at the Morgan Grand National! 🏆💙 We’re so proud that Status Symbol Designs created both the dickie and western jacket Lauren wore in the ring!

The dickie is a beautiful pure silk in a shimmery blue that is adorned with black and white rhinestones along the collar, for a touch of sparkle. And you know she had to make a statement in the Peacock western jacket!

Beautifully dressed for a standout performance! 🤍🐴

Fall show season looks good on Fiona & Nemo. 🍂🐴🤎

Fiona has a gorgeous dark burgundy jacket that pairs beautifully with Nemo’s rich liver chestnut coat — basically all the warm-toned fall vibes in one picture. 🍷🍂

She wanted two looks for Octoberfest: one for daytime and one for those big nighttime classes.

For daytime, we kept it crisp and classic with white, a silver bit, and black ribbon. Classic for a reason. 🤍🖤

For nighttime, she chose black satin with a beautiful silver collar applique and a satin ribbon to bring that gorgeous burgundy back into the look. ✨🖤

And that ribbon… THE RIBBON. 😂

Finding the right burgundy was seriously a mission. I searched for hours trying to find a match that would work with Fiona’s jacket. Everything was too red, too brown, too purple — nothing was quite it. Until finally, we found the one at Fabric Place Basement in Natick. 🙌🍷 Huge shoutout to them for having a huge wall of all shades of ribbon to dig through!

Fiona, thank you for your patience while I went on a full-blown burgundy ribbon hunt — and thank you so much for your business! I can’t wait to see you and Nemo in these looks at Octoberfest.

Fabric Place Basement

There’s something extra special about creating a mother-daughter look — especially when it’s for two riders who get to share the sport they love. 🤍🐴

I just finished these custom Dickies for Jessica & Lila, who will be debuting their new looks at the Octoberfest Horse Show later this month, and I am so in love with how they came together!

For Jessica, we chose a beautiful, unique white brocade and paired it with rich royal blue accents — because nothing says blue ribbon energy quite like this combination. 💙🏆

And Lila? She wanted SPARKLE. ✨ Lots of it. But as every good equestrian knows, there are trainers to listen to and rule books to follow! 😉 So we found the perfect compromise: just the right amount of rhinestones running down the front placket for that little extra bit of sparkle without going overboard.

We’ve had the joy of creating many a mother-daughter custom design over the years, and we truly never get tired of it. There’s just something so meaningful about moms sharing the equestrian sport with their kiddos — the early mornings, the long show days, the nerves, the celebrations, the ribbons, and all those memories made together.

Here’s to making memories, turning heads, and maybe bringing home a few ribbons along the way. 💙🏆✨
