RIP Ted Turner
Posted at 8:38 PM in Uncategorized by dgasper Share
The first time I met Ted Turner was when I chaired the Women in Telecommunications Gala at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.
I have always admired Ted’s vision, leadership, and remarkable accomplishments. A special shout-out to Julia Sprunt who was Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Turner Broadcasting and CNN at the time, along with Lauren Hutton, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and everyone who helped make the gala such a memorable evening.
The memories made that evening will always hold a special place in my heart.

🎤🌟 Karaoke on the Sky Terrace — July 4th 🎇 With Debi Gasper and The AD Agency crew belting out “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” under the stars, the energy was electric. And just when the song hit its peak... Sonny made his move — shirt off, mad splash, perfect timing. That’s what we call fireworks from every angle. 💦💃🌆
Still buzzing from the 1331 Maryland rooftop vibes—who’s ready for the encore?

Honoring a Hero: Ray Gasper
My father, Ray Gasper, enlisted in the Army at just 17 years old to serve in the European theatre during World War II. Over the course of three years, he bravely fought in five major battles, standing shoulder to shoulder with his fellow soldiers—including his closest friend and battalion brother, Jimmy Wilkerson, who captured this treasured photograph.
Throughout his life, my father never missed a single battalion reunion, continuing to attend them faithfully until he was the last surviving member. Now, at 100 years old, his legacy of courage, loyalty, and quiet strength lives on.
Love you, Dad. I am beyond proud to be your daughter.
Happy 250th Anniversary, U.S. Army.
