Jackpot Veterinary Center

There’s only so much you can learn from a textbook! 🐴🐾

Hands-on experience is an important part of becoming a veterinarian, and we’re proud to help the next generation of veterinary professionals put their knowledge into practice!

As an affiliate of the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine, Jackpot Veterinary Center welcomes veterinary students for clinical rotations in both equine and small animal medicine.

This week, veterinary student Cassidy has had the opportunity to work alongside Dr. Autum in our equine clinic, gaining valuable insight into the day-to-day responsibilities of a veterinarian. From developing clinical skills to learning how to approach real patient cases, these experiences help bridge the gap between classroom education and practicing medicine.

We love having students join our team, ask questions, and gain confidence as they prepare for their veterinary careers. It's rewarding to play a small part in shaping the future of veterinary medicine right here in Tucson!

🐴 A couple of days dedicated to learning, collaboration, and better equine care!

Levi Gallego thanks for bringing a great educational opportunity to Tucson.

Yogi Sharp, The Equine Documentalist, at Jackpot Veterinary Center for a two day intensive exploring equine biomechanics and myofascial connections through hoof function.

From lectures on farriery science to hands on practical demonstrations, it was a great opportunity for equine professionals to deepen their knowledge, share ideas, and continue learning how we can better support the horses in our care.

We love being part of a community that is committed to continued learning and improving equine health.

🚨 Attention Mammoth & Oracle Horse Owners!🚨

Our mobile equine team will be in the Mammoth and Oracle area on October 19 and currently has availability for appointments.

If your horse is due for vaccines, dental care, a wellness exam, or another service, give us a call to see about getting on the schedule.

Have multiple horse owners at the same property? Call fees may be split between clients at the same service address, making it a great time to coordinate with your barn or neighbors.

📞 Call Jackpot Veterinary Center for availability and scheduling. We’ll see you on the road! 520-999-3887

A friendly reminder about our cancellation policy💛

We know life happens! If you’re unable to make it to your pet’s scheduled appointment, please let us know as soon as possible.

When you schedule an appointment, that time is reserved just for you and your pet. A last-minute cancellation or missed appointment means that spot may no longer be available for another pet who needs to be seen.

Giving us as much notice as possible allows our team to offer that appointment to another pet and family who may be waiting for care.

Thank you for helping us make the most of our appointment availability and care for as many pets as we can. 🐾

🌵 Ticks in the desert? Yep, we have them too.

It’s easy to assume Tucson’s hot, dry climate means ticks aren’t something dog owners need to worry about, but several tick species are found in Arizona. The brown dog tick is especially important for pet owners because it prefers dogs, can live and reproduce indoors, and can transmit diseases including Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

If your dog loves hiking, exploring the desert, or spending time outside, make tick prevention part of the routine:

🐾 Keep your dog on year-round flea and tick prevention
🌵 Stay toward the center of trails and away from heavy brush
🔎 Check your dog after hikes, especially around the ears, neck, armpits, between the toes, and under collars or harnesses
🏠 Remember that some ticks can hitch a ride home with your pet

Arizona veterinary guidance recommends year-round tick control, even here in the desert.

Not sure if your dog’s current prevention covers ticks? Give us a call and ask which option is right for your pet and their lifestyle. 🐶

From their very first puppy or kitten visit to their golden years, it’s an honor to be there for every chapter. ❤️🐾

You trust us with so much more than your pet’s health. You trust us to care for a beloved member of your family through the happy visits, the scary moments, the milestones, and even the hardest goodbyes.

Watching pets like Oliver grow from playful puppies into cherished senior companions is one of the greatest gifts of what we do. 🫶

We take pride in being there every step of the way—with care, compassion, and a whole lot of love.🐶

Because your pet’s life is a journey, and we’re honored when you choose us to be part of it. ❤️

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from Carrington College’s Veterinary Technology program to Jackpot! 🐾

Our vet tech, Kelsey, showed the students around the clinic, gave them a peek at what we keep stocked on our equine truck, and talked with them about some of the many important roles veterinary technicians take on each day.

We love having opportunities to connect with future veterinary professionals, share a little of what happens behind the scenes, and give students a closer look at where a career in vet med can take them.

Thanks for spending part of your day with us, Carrington College! 💛
