Lehman College, Department of English Welcome to the English Department at Lehman College, CUNY.
We are a vibrant community of readers, writers, scholars, and professionals made up of students and faculty from the Bronx, New York City, and the surrounding tri-state area. Our diverse course and program offerings—available via a wide array of web-enhanced courses featuring stimulating face-to-face discussions, as well as a limited number of online courses for working or distance students—meet the needs of various populations, including undergraduate majors, minors, and graduate students, as well as non-majors seeking compelling general education and writing-intensive courses in English.

Have you thought about graduate studies? Did you know that we offer an M.A. in English, Creative Writing, and Writing Studies right here at Lehman? If you’re contemplating graduate studies, please attend our upcoming online information session on Wednesday, May 6, at 5:30 p.m. on Zoom. There is no fee for CUNY alumni to apply to the graduate program and the GRE is not required.
Register here to attend: https://welcome.lehman.cuny.edu/register/eng.may26.
Or, if you can’t make Wednesday's meeting, reach out to program director Bret Maney at [email protected].
We’re currently reviewing applications for the Fall (the final application deadline is June 15), and we'd be excited to answer any questions that you might have about our program, the application process, and graduate English studies at CUNY and beyond.
