International Myeloma Foundation
Let’s face multiple myeloma together. We’re here with support, resources, and community.
About the International Myeloma Foundation
Founded in 1990, the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) is the world’s leading organization dedicated to multiple myeloma. The IMF is steadfast in its mission: improving the quality of life of myeloma patients while working toward prevention and a cure. The IMF serves people impacted by myeloma at every stage of the disease by combining world-class research, trusted education, global advocacy, and direct support. A cornerstone of this work is the International Myeloma Working Group® (IMWG)—a network of more than 300 internationally renowned researchers and clinicians who establish the guidelines that shape how myeloma is diagnosed, treated, and managed across the globe. Through its global network of support groups, educational programs, its 24/7 generative-AI myeloma assistant Myelo®, its InfoLine staff, and its advocacy for greater healthcare access, the IMF helps people living with myeloma and their care partners navigate diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. At the same time, the IMF ensures scientific advances translate into better care and outcomes. The IMF is driven by its vision: A world where every myeloma patient can live life to the fullest, unburdened by the disease. Breakthroughs are no accident. Myeloma research relies on the myeloma community and their participation in clinical trials. Find a clinical trial near you at myeloma.org/sparkcures

What if better myeloma treatments could reach people faster?
Clinical trials take a long time to open, and many studies are concentrated at major cancer centers. For some people, distance, language, cost, trust, or just not knowing a trial exists can make research hard to access.
That can mean fewer opportunities to take part in studies testing new treatments, and more time before promising therapies become part of everyday care.
The International Myeloma Foundation is changing that. Today, the IMF is launching the US Myeloma Network, or USMN, a national clinical research network created to help myeloma studies open faster, expand access to clinical trials, and accelerate the development of better treatments across every stage of the disease.
USMN connects leading academic centers, community oncology practices, researchers, and industry partners through a coordinated national network. The network aims to reduce delays that can slow research and patient access to promising new therapies by simplifying how studies are opened and run across participating sites.
The goal is better treatments, faster, while creating more opportunities for people to learn about and participate in research.
USMN will also work to make clinical trial education easier to understand and more responsive to the communities it serves, including through culturally responsive, linguistically appropriate resources and community engagement. The goal is to help more people understand their options and make informed decisions about participating in research.
USMN is designed to support research from prevention and early intervention through relapsed and refractory disease.
Why this matters
For people living with myeloma, faster research can mean getting answers sooner about which treatments work and who may benefit from them.
Broader trial access can also mean more people have the opportunity to contribute to the research that shapes future care, including those who do not receive treatment at a major myeloma center.
We believe progress should mean better treatments reaching patients faster, more opportunities to participate in research, and continued work toward preventing and curing myeloma.
USMN is one way we are working toward that future.
