Last night and today, we had the chance to celebrate Bud, Ed and Ann Wunsch as they begin their well-earned retirements.
The Wunsch family has been part of the heart and history of Big W Sales for decades. What began with their family grew into a company, a team, and a legacy that continues today as part of Fairbank. Their impact on Big W Sales and the people who have been part of it will carry on for years to come.
Mostly, it was just a lot of fun having everyone together. There were plenty of laughs, lots of “How have you been?” and “What are you up to now?” and people catching up with friends and coworkers they hadn’t seen in a while. It was heartfelt, but it was a really happy celebration, too.
A special thank you to our CEO, who flew in from Wichita, to those who traveled from Fresno and Salinas, and to everyone who stopped by to celebrate with us. We’re glad so many could join us.
Bud, Ed and Ann, thank you for the years, the laughs, the friendships, and everything you’ve contributed along the way.
It’s hard to say goodbye to the Wunsch family. Congratulations to all three of you on a retirement very well earned.

Wednesday brought our teams together for a combined meeting featuring a great training session led by Bridgette Readel with Lilac Lane Media. It was a valuable opportunity to learn, share ideas, and continue building on the skills that help us better serve our customers and our communities.
We’re grateful for the time together and for everyone who helped make the meetings a success. A big thank you to Bridgette for sharing her knowledge and expertise with our team!
