🧠💜 WORLD STROKE DAY – OCTOBER 29 💜

Today is a reminder that strokes can happen to anyone, at any age, and recognizing the warning signs can save a life.

At TransCare VT, this day holds a special meaning for us. We understand firsthand how quickly life can change when a stroke happens. We also understand the importance of having a compassionate, patient-centered care giving team surrounding those navigating recovery and the challenges that can follow.

Remember BE FAST when recognizing the signs of a stroke:

B – Balance: Sudden loss of balance or coordination.

E – Eyes: Sudden vision changes.

F – Face: Does one side of the face droop?

A – Arms: Is one arm weak or numb?

S – Speech: Is speech slurred or difficult to understand?

T – Time: Call 911 immediately. Every minute matters!

Stroke recovery doesn't end when someone leaves the hospital. For many individuals, the journey includes rehabilitation, follow-up appointments, ongoing medical care, and finding ways to regain independence.

That's where we are proud to play a part.

As a small, family-owned transportation company, we know that getting to medical appointments is about so much more than getting from Point A to Point B. It's about dignity, compassion, safety, and helping people maintain access to the care they need.

Today, we encourage everyone to learn the signs, share the information, and never ignore the symptoms.

Because every second counts, every life matters, and every journey toward recovery deserves support. 💜

Today was a reminder of just how important it is to stay vigilant, even when something initially appears legitimate. We came VERY close to being scammed while attempting to arrange a transportation booking.

At first, the emails seemed believable. But as the conversation continued, several red flags appeared that made us stop, take a closer look, and question the entire request. 🚩

Here are the warning signs we encountered:

🚩 A familiar address that didn't add up. The emails eventually included an address we know very well. However, the name provided did not match anyone living at that address. That immediately raised a HUGE red flag.

🚩 Unusual payment requests. The person arranging the trip requested payment through PayPal and Zelle.

🚩 No verifiable contact information. We were provided ZERO contact information for the patient or the caregiver. No reliable way to verify the individuals involved or confirm the transportation details.

When you put all these pieces together, something simply wasn't right. We trusted our instincts, slowed down, and started asking questions.

❤️ As a small, family-owned business, we work hard to provide safe, reliable, compassionate transportation to the people who depend on us. Protecting our patients, our team, and our business is part of that responsibility.

A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS WHEN BOOKING TRANSPORTATION:

✅ Verify the identity of the person arranging the trip.

✅ Confirm the patient's identity, address, and caregiver contact information.

✅ Be cautious of unusual payment requests, especially when combined with other inconsistencies.

✅ Never let someone pressure you into rushing through the booking process.

✅ If something doesn't feel right, STOP and ask questions!

Scammers can use familiar addresses, convincing stories, and details that make a request appear legitimate. Just because someone provides a real address doesn't mean the person they're claiming to represent actually lives there.

Your safety matters more than completing a booking. Every single time.

We're sharing this experience to help other small businesses and transportation providers stay alert. We were fortunate to recognize the warning signs before moving forward, and we hope this reminder helps someone else avoid becoming a victim.

🚐 At TransCare VT, we believe in taking care of people, and that starts with making sure every trip is legitimate and safe.

Trust your instincts. Verify the details. Never ignore the red flags.

Stay safe out there, everyone! ❤️

Today hits a little differently for us.

Our roots are in New York, and September 11, 2001 isn’t simply a date in history for our family. It is a day that changed us. People we knew, cared about, and expected to see again never came home that day. We watched a place we called home become the center of unimaginable heartbreak, courage, and loss.

We remember the faces, the names, the families, and the first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away. We remember those who never made it home, and those who still carry the weight of that day with them long afterward.

Twenty-five years later, the pain may have changed, but the love and the memories never will. We carry the people we lost in our hearts, we honor the lives they lived, and we hold close the reminder to never take a single moment, a single person, or the privilege of serving others for granted.

For those we lost, for those who survived, for those who served, and for the families who still feel their absence — we remember you. Always. 🇺🇸❤️

💙 This is why we do what we do!

Positive feedback from our clients and community partners fuels our mission even more. As a patient-centered caregiving team, we’re proud to help reduce barriers and make access to non-emergent medical services a little easier.

Thank you for trusting TransCare VT to be part of your journey! 🚐💙
