What does physical therapy look like at one of our outpatient centers?

It helps you return to the activities that matter to you with customized treatment plans that assist you in reaching your goals. Whether that’s walking with less pain, returning to your sport, living well beyond cancer, recovering after birth or feeling more confident in your everyday movements.

This National Physical Therapy Month, we’re highlighting the process and the people behind it all. Here’s what it looks like in our centers, straight from one of the clinicians who makes it happen.

Willard Hammons had a back condition that limited most of his outdoor activities, such as golfing and taking long walks. Because of this condition, he needed lower back surgery.

After surgery, Willard worked with Physical Therapist Bryan James and Physical Therapist Assistant Megan Sullivan at our Lexington Bryan Station center. With the team's support, he was able to start walking without canes or other support assistance.

Willard has been able to become more mobile, even return to golfing.

"I walked (into) KORT with the support of two canes and then was able to walk out on my own two legs," Willard said. "That came as a result of Bryan, Megan and all of the KORT team and their expertise ... in giving the patient a new day and life to live by."
