If hearing loss makes it difficult or impossible to use a standard phone, you may qualify. There is no specific level of hearing loss required.
Applying is simple:
Be an Illinois resident and have active phone service, including standard, cellular, or prepaid service.
Complete the ITAC application.
Have it signed by an approved professional, such as a doctor, audiologist, speech-language pathologist, hearing aid specialist, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or DHS Counselor for the Deaf.
Submit your application and get connected with equipment that can make phone conversations easier.
