Our officers are busy preparing special Halloween packages for friends in our community who aren’t able to participate in trick-or-treat activities this year. Because everyone deserves a little Halloween magic!

👻 For all our little ghosts, goblins, superheroes, and tiny troublemakers heading out to trick-or-treat, let’s keep the fun spooky and the night SAFE! 🚔

🦺 A few tricks for a safer treat night:

🎃 Be bright, be seen! Wear reflective gear, carry glow sticks or flashlights, and make sure those costumes don’t hide little faces from drivers.

🚶 Use sidewalks and crosswalks. Look both ways before crossing, and never dart between parked cars.

👨‍👩‍👧 Stick together! Little monsters should have a trusted adult nearby, and older kids should travel in groups.

🍬 Inspect before you eat! Have a trusted adult check all treats before anyone digs into their candy stash.

🎭 Keep costumes safe. Make sure masks allow clear vision, costumes fit properly, and accessories aren’t sharp or dangerous.

🏠 Visit familiar homes. Only approach homes with lights on, and never enter a stranger’s home or vehicle.

🚗 Drivers, slow down! Expect little feet to appear where you least expect them. Put the phone away and watch carefully for trick-or-treaters.

Springboro Trick-or-Treat is Saturday, October 31, from 6–8 p.m.!

Let’s work together to make it a night full of laughter, memories, candy, and absolutely NO real-life horror stories.

From all of us at the Springboro Police Department, have a happy, spooky, and SAFE Halloween!

Remember: The only thing that should be scary on Halloween is the costume… not the safety statistics!

Safety Is a Team Effort!

Officer Morgan and Officer Blue were honored to join Clearcreek Fire District, Springboro OH Assistant Fire Chief Buehler for a conversation about safety with our Junior Optimists!

Our police and fire departments work side by side in the field with one shared mission: keeping our community safe and healthy. But protecting our community doesn’t start when an emergency happens; it starts with prevention, education, and building relationships.

That’s why we love opportunities like this to connect with our young community members, share important safety information, and remind them that our first responders are here to help!

A big thank-you to the Junior Optimists for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to learn and grow together. And, of course, Officer Blue was happy to be part of the conversation — because every safety meeting is a little better with a golden retriever!

Check out Officer Hurles putting his bike skills to use to help lead this fun bike parade.

Our Bike Patrol Unit had an eventful morning of training, putting in the work with formations, range time, and plenty of ride time. But because apparently hours of training weren’t enough… they decided to finish with a little friendly competition.

And by “friendly competition,” we mean putting their skills to the test in a course that required speed, precision, endurance, and the ability to perform under pressure.

The challenge included shooting while mounted, dismounting and engaging multiple targets, and taking a hostage-rescue shot after navigating a course designed to elevate their heart rates and simulate the stress of an emergency.

Congratulations to Officer Estes for completing the course in the fastest time! 🏆

But here’s the thing about Bike Patrol: these officers are some of the most versatile members of our department. They need endurance, balance, precision, sound judgment, and the ability to transition quickly between navigating a crowded event and responding to a rapidly changing situation.

It takes a whole lot more than knowing how to ride a bicycle!

We’re proud of the dedication our officers put into staying sharp, building their skills, and preparing to serve our community. Thank you to our Range Officers for creating and implementing a challenging course.

Serving Up Smiles, School Spirit & a Little Sweetness!

Who says police work can’t be a-peel-ing? 😉🍏

Our officers had a fantastic time joining the fun at Dennis Elementary School for National School Lunch Week! We traded our usual routines for lunch trays, big smiles, and the chance to connect with some of our favorite members of the community, our students!

And we didn’t show up empty-handed! Our friends at Heather’s Gourmet Apples joined in on the fun by sponsoring a NEEDOH giveaway for every grade! Because what goes better with a delicious school lunch than a little squishy, stress-relieving fun?

We love opportunities like this because community policing isn’t just about showing up when something goes wrong. It’s about showing up for the everyday moments, building relationships, sharing a few laughs, and reminding our kids that their officers are here for them.

A huge THANK YOU to Dennis Elementary for welcoming us and to Heather’s Gourmet Apples for helping make the day extra special!

Full trays, full hearts, and a whole lot of happy kids. That’s a lunch break we can get behind!

Our very own Officer Aaron Morgan, Community Resource Officer and Public Information Officer, was recently awarded the Springboro Chamber of Commerce Community Excellence Award!

She also received a Proclamation from the Warren County Board of Commissioners, a certificate of recognition from the office of U.S. Senator Jon Husted, and another from the Ohio Senate of the General Assembly.

Now, Officer Morgan is usually the one behind the scenes celebrating our community, highlighting the good in others, and finding ways to bring people together. So naturally, turning the spotlight back on her feels a little awkward. (We can practically hear her saying, “Okay, that’s enough!”)

But today, we’re going to take a moment to do just that.

Community policing is about so much more than a badge and a uniform. It’s about showing up, building trust, listening, making connections, and remembering that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference.

Officer Morgan brings that spirit to her work every day. Whether she’s connecting residents with resources, celebrating local businesses, supporting community initiatives, or finding new ways to strengthen the relationship between our department and the people we serve, her goal is always the same: to make a difference in the community she calls home.

The recognition she received speaks to that commitment, and we couldn’t be happier to see her efforts acknowledged.

Aaron, we are proud of the work you do, but even more proud of the heart you bring to it. Thank you for reminding us that serving a community isn’t just about what we do in uniform. It’s about how we show up for people.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Morgan on this well-deserved honor!

Officer Blue’s Busy Day: Learning How to Save Lives!

Officer Blue had a busy day today, and it started with a very important visit to the Warren County Su***de Prevention Coalition!

Blue was so glad he joined the team because he learned all about 988 — the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline!

Even our four-legged officers know that sometimes people need a little extra support. Blue learned that calling or texting 988 connects people experiencing emotional distress or a mental health crisis with trained crisis counselors who can listen, offer support, and help them through a difficult moment.

And while Blue is always happy to offer a furry head, a wagging tail, and a little extra love, he knows that getting help when you need it is a sign of strength.

A big thank-you to the Warren County Su***de Prevention Coalition for the important work you do in our community and for letting Officer Blue be part of the mission!

Remember, you don’t have to face a difficult moment alone. If you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988.

Officer Blue says: “It’s okay to not be okay. There’s always someone ready to help “

Pencils, Police Bikes & Plenty of Halloween Fun!

Officer Morgan had a special partner in crime (the good kind !) this evening at North Park! Officer Johnson joined her at the Legacy Tattoo Trunk or Treat to hand out pencils to all the little trick-or-treaters. And because candy isn’t the only thing that makes Halloween great, Officer Johnson even let some of the kids check out his police bicycle!

We love getting out into the community, making connections, sharing smiles, and reminding our youngest residents that their Springboro officers are here to support them both on and off duty.

A big THANK YOU to Legacy Tattoo and everyone who helped make this event a success. We are lucky to be part of such a fun, welcoming, and supportive community!
