- Any child under 18 with a Social Security number qualifies.
- Eligible children will get a one-time, no-strings-attached $1,000 contribution from the federal government.
- Family, friends, and employers can contribute up to $5,000 a year, combined.
- No additional contributions are required – you can just let the initial contribution grow.
