Legacy Gallery

Cowboy Otis, the resident cat of our Canyon Road gallery complex, returned today to see the Kenneth Peloke painting.

No appointment. No intention of buying. Just impeccable taste and the confidence of someone who pays absolutely no rent.

Our Weekend with Douglas Aagard doesn't start until 11am today but we have already sold so many of these paintings depicting the fall splendor found all across the West.

This one is titled Sage, Aspen & Pines and it's a 24 x 36."

Presenting New Works
October 9-10, 11am to 4pm daily

Join us for A Weekend with

Douglas Aagard
Join us for a special two-day event celebrating the extraordinary work of acclaimed landscape painter Douglas Aagard. Throughout the weekend, collectors and visitors will have the rare opportunity to watch Aagard paint live while exploring a new collection of original works inspired by the landscapes and quiet moments that shape his life.

For Douglas Aagard, painting is far more than the act of recording a place—it is an expression of gratitude, faith, and wonder. Every canvas begins with an emotional connection to the land. Whether it is the glow of autumn aspens, the quiet rhythm of a country road, or sunlight stretching across an open field, Aagard seeks to capture the spirit of a place rather than simply its appearance. His work reflects the joy he discovers in the ordinary moments of everyday life, inviting viewers to slow down and experience the peace and beauty that surround them.

Our Weekend With Douglas Aagard is almost here! Doug will be in the gallery with some beautiful new pieces and will be painting on location and chatting with collectors and clients about his work. Friday and Saturday, October 8 & 9, from 11 am to 4pm daily.

Douglas is a Utah landscape painter known for his use of color, texture and light. His subject matter is as varied as the Utah landscape itself. From the high mountain pines and aspens to sage and cedars with a whole lot of farmland in between. He lives in central Utah in a rural community his wife and three children.

Let's hear from Doug about his approach to painting.

"I search for the spirit or emotion a subject evokes in me, and strive to find a way to put it on canvas. It’s often a magical process. I love being an artist. There are so many wonderful discoveries that are made through close scrutiny of the land whose wonder I would have totally missed had it not been for my profession. Thank you to all those who make it possible for me to continue."
