Before and after images of a 41yo Chesterfield Public Service member who underwent a 2 level cervical disc replacement earlier this year with Dr. William Kemp (Dr. William Kemp | Spine Neurosurgeon). He is extremely pleased with the results of surgery, relief of his preoperative neck and arm pain, and how quickly he was able to return to his job helping serve our community.
Our first responders and public service teams dedicate themselves to protecting, serving, and caring for others every day. At Neurosurgical Associates, we’re proud to care for the men and women who keep our communities moving. Our goal is simple: provide expert, personalized neurosurgical care focused on recovery, function, and getting patients safely back to the activities they love.
Because when you spend your career taking care of others, you deserve a team that takes care of you. 💙

What Does “Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery” Really Mean?
When we say a spine surgery is minimally invasive, it doesn’t mean the surgery is less important — it means we use advanced technology and specialized techniques to minimize disruption to the surrounding tissues.
One example is using a high-powered surgical microscope during spine surgery. The microscope provides magnified, highly detailed visualization of the spine, allowing the surgeon to work through a smaller incision while carefully navigating around delicate nerves and other structures.
The result is: smaller incisions, less disruption to surrounding muscle and tissue, precise visualization and less postoperative pain
Give our office a call to find out whether a minimally invasive approach may be appropriate for you!

You’ve been told you need surgery. You’ve picked a date. Maybe you’ve even started making arrangements.
But one question may still be on your mind:
“Am I making the right decision?”
That’s where a second opinion can help. At Neurosurgical Associates, we’re happy to provide a second opinion—even if you’ve already scheduled surgery with another surgeon.
Because when it comes to your brain or spine, you deserve to feel confident, informed, and comfortable with your treatment
A second opinion isn’t about questioning your doctor. It’s about making sure YOU feel confident in your decision to have surgery and the postoperative care and support that you will receive.
Call our office to schedule an appointment for a second option and leave confident in your decisions.
Focused Ultrasound - Before and After
Focused ultrasound is an incisionless, non-invasive therapeutic technology that uses MRI-guided sound waves to target precise diseased tissue without damaging surrounding areas. Dr. Singh Sahni, Dr. Matthew Boyce and the Focused Ultrasound team at HCA Johnston Willis Hospital are offering this life changing, outpatient procedure.
Please contact Dr. Sahni’s nurse, Shannon, at 804-330-7099 to get scheduled for evaluation of your essential tremors and/or to see if you’re a candidate for focused ultrasound treatment.

Cervical myelopathy occurs when the spinal cord in your neck becomes compressed. Unlike a pinched nerve, this condition affects the spinal cord itself and can lead to progressive nerve damage if left untreated.
Cervical myelopathy is often misdiagnosed because symptoms can mimic other neurologic conditions. Delaying the correct diagnosis can result in permanent neurologic deficits. This is why a prompt evaluation by a trained neurosurgical team is vital.
Unfortunately, myelopathy is progressive and typically does not improve with medications, injections, or physical therapy alone because these treatments cannot remove the compression. Surgical decompression is likely required to alleviate the pressure on the spinal cord and halt the progression of symptoms.
Reach out to our office to schedule an appointment if you or someone you love is experiencing symptoms consistent with myelopathy. We are here to help!
