A nonprofit transitional school for young adults with #autism or other forms of #neurodiversity.

We empower our students with the skills needed to live independent, productive, and fulfilling lives as valued members of their communities. ScenicView Academy is designed to build the autonomy, competence, and connections of young adults with neurodevelopmental differences. Students become part of a supportive community that respects their challenges, strengths, and contributions. While also helping them develop the skills, responsibility and relationships needed for individuals in a community to live, work, and thrive, together.

The buildings have always been , this just makes a more direct option available for those with mobility concerns. We'll be sure to share the "after" photos as well.

Dear Kymberly Mellen,

We love the The Ruth! We attend shows as often as we can and feel fortunate to have such high quality productions so close to our campus. A week or so ago a group of us attended and the show, along with your sweet director’s note, stayed with us long after the performance ended.

Live theater is so beautiful and exciting: no two performances are ever exactly the same. That beauty also exists in people, though our differences aren’t always met with understanding or affection. Your production offered both. You brought warmth to the characters’ particular ways of moving through the world and treated their longing for love and connection with tenderness and respect.

For us, that was deeply personal. Many of us know what it feels like to be misunderstood or to have our differences noticed before anything else about us. Seeing characters whose uniqueness was so openly embraced was a welcome reminder that those parts of us are worthy of affection, too. Whether or not you envisioned any particular character as , we thank you for choosing to represent so warmly those of us who live on the “quirkier” side of life.

Representation matters. It has the power to change how society sees people. It challenges stereotypes, normalizes our presence, and helps others see our . Thank you for bringing such authenticity and heart to Jane Austen’s characters. Your production honored the hopes we carry in our own lives: to be understood, to find connection, and to be loved for exactly who we are.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Your friends at ScenicView Academy for Young Adults with Autism

P.S. Like you, we have a special fondness for the : Emma Miller is a fellow student, and much of her storyline this season was filmed on our campus!

We know you've been counting down the days to FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention. We also know that the con can be a LOT for those of us who get overwhelmed by loud noises, bright lights, crowds, and other things. That's why we host a every year in **room 253B**. It's a quiet space where you can take a break and reset. Stop by any time for as long as you'd like. All ages welcome.
