If we could handpick the qualities we’d want in a family dog, we’d end up with Lila!!!!

She’s gentle, joyful, affectionate, wonderful with children, dogs and cats, and completely house trained. She loves playing in the yard, collecting her toys, making friends on walks, and curling up as close to her people as she can possibly get.

There’s such a sweetness about Lila. She’s happy to be included, happy to have company, happy to love and be loved. She’s the kind of dog who makes a home feel warmer just by being in it. But yet, this lovely girl is still waiting to be chosen.

Yes, Lila is a senior. But we’d love for someone to see that as one more reason to choose her, not a reason to pass her by. She’s already everything so many families spend years hoping their dog will become.

Our amazing Silver Paws angel Wendy Grubbs has generously covered Lila’s adoption fee. Now we need to find the family who will give this wonderful girl the life she deserves. You know what to do: share her far and wide, or make her yours! ❤️

We couldn’t let Halloween go by without showing off every last one of Pumpkin’s little pumpkins! 🎃🧡

Happy Halloween from the sweetest Pumpkin patch! Which little face has your heart?!?

Time to turn back the clocks…and maybe make time for a new family member! ⏰🐾💙

Join us this Sunday, November 1, from 12–2 PM at Kentlands PetSmart. Who knows who you might fall for?

ZERO applications. Since JUNE. 💔

Diego—a gorgeous 1 year old lab x cattle dog mix—has been doing just about everything he can to get noticed. He’s learned his commands, perfected his tricks, and even dressed up for adoption events. And somehow, this ridiculously handsome, sweet, whip-smart boy hasn’t received a single application…we genuinely cannot understand it!!!

His wonderful foster mama Stephy Evans has poured months of time, love, and training into him, and it shows. Diego is house-trained, crate-trained, eager to please, and so incredibly smart.

He adores people, especially children. He loves swimming, retrieving, hiking, running, and learning new things. He’s athletic, affectionate, and always up for an adventure. And after a good walk or some exercise, he settles beautifully at home.

Diego would thrive with an active family who appreciates a dog with both brains and energy. He’d be happiest in a home without cats or very small dogs.

He’s not a dog who needs someone to see his potential. He’s a wonderful dog who’s ready for someone to see HIM. And after four months without a single application, we’re hoping you’ll help us change that.

➡️ Please share Diego far and wide. Somewhere out there is a family who would absolutely adore this boy. We just need to reach them. ❤️ Apply to adopt Diego https://www.petconnectrescue.org/adopt/dogs/ &page=shelterluv_wrap_1601324508071%2Fembed%2Fanimal%2FPTCR-A-6543

Excuse us, but have you seen these two fine young gentlemen?!?! 😍

Meet Rusty (back) and Shorty (front), two absolutely gorgeous 10-month-old Tibetan Spaniel/Shih Tzu mixes, each weighing just 16 pounds. The fabulous coats! The little smooshy faces!

Rusty is our auburn-haired sweetheart, a little reserved at first but growing more confident every day. Shorty is a professional sidekick who wants nothing more than to be wherever his people are.

Both boys are dog-friendly, respectful of cats, have spent time with children, and are already crate-trained and nearly potty-trained!

They’re looking for their own loving homes, with families who will give them a little time to settle in and show off their wonderful personalities. We have a feeling these two are going to turn some heads. ❤️

Apply to adopt Rusty or Shorty or both at petconnectrescue.org!

Well, look who’s an award-winning little superstar!!!! 🏆💚

Our beloved PCR alum Rex, the sweetest, cutest little blind wonder dog, took FIRST PLACE in his division at a Halloween costume contest in downtown Frederick!

We absolutely adore seeing this precious boy out living his very best life with a family who loves him to pieces. Way to go, Rex! You’re forever a winner to us!!!

❤️ PUPPY FOSTERS NEEDED! ❤️

Meet Pippa, Tilly, and Lulu, three lovely 4-month-old, 20-pound German Shepherd mixes who need foster homes!

These sweet girls were part of an oops litter and have been lovingly fostered in the home where they were born. Now they need new foster placements, and we’re hoping our wonderful community can help!

They can go separately, or together if you have a fenced yard and room for more than one.

Could you foster one of these girls? Please email [email protected].

And please SHARE! The right foster family might be just one share away. ❤️
