🌹 We are entering Class Four of the Women’s Spiritual Anatomy Series.

And this month, we are entering the pelvis + womb.

When we speak about female creativity, we often talk about what we are creating.

What are you birthing?
What are you building?
What are you manifesting?
What are you bringing into the world?

But there is another side of creation that we don’t talk about nearly enough:
Completion. Release. Emptying. Beginning again.

The female reproductive cycle offers us a powerful biological image of this rhythm.

The uterine lining builds.

The body prepares for the possibility of pregnancy.

And when pregnancy does not occur, the functional layer of that lining sheds through menstruation.

Build. Prepare. Release. Renew.

Not a straight line.

As women in our modern day culture, we are so often taught to not listen to our bodies. To override the messages that our body is sending us. To even silence our own voices in the name of serving something outside of ourselves. And this is where self-betrayal, imbalance, and dis-ease begin to manifest.

Many women don't realize that their bodies are screaming to communicate things to help them navigate their relationship with themselves, with others, and the environment around them. And many women feel lost of how to even begin listening to their bodies again!

In communicating with the body, one of the best places we can start is in the throat & the cervix.

The throat is connected to the cervix, a vital part of a woman's reproductive system. The relationship between our womb and our voice is one and the same. When we are able to advocate for our wombs and speak our boundaries, we also are protecting our nervous system at large.

A physical gateway between the va**na and the uterus, the cervix plays an extraordinary role throughout a woman’s reproductive life.

And in our next gathering, we are going to explore the cervix through an even wider lens.

Communication. Boundaries. Voice.

What might the anatomy of the cervix teach us about the way we experience ourselves?

How do our bodies communicate information to us?

What role does the nervous system play in how we sense and respond to the world around us?

And how does what we experience internally eventually find its way into our voice?

Together with Claire Wao•Rē Yaseed, we’ll explore the relationship between the cervix, nervous system and throat, weaving female physiology with embodied and spiritual inquiry.

This is Class Three of an eight-month journey into the biological, emotional, relational and spiritual dimensions of the female body.

🌹 WOMEN WERE TAUGHT HOW TO GIVE.

We know how to nurture.

How to care.

How to anticipate what everyone around us needs.

How to make things happen.

How to hold families, friendships, communities, businesses, projects, homes, and sometimes entire worlds together.

Many of us have become exceptionally good at giving.

But I’ve been wondering…

Who taught us how to receive?

Can you receive help without immediately thinking about how you’ll repay it?

Can you receive a compliment without deflecting it?

Can you receive care without feeling guilty?

Can you receive pleasure without performing?

Can you receive rest without believing you first need to earn it?

Can you allow another person to show up for you without automatically taking control?

Can you receive love while remaining deeply connected to yourself?

This is where the conversation about receptivity becomes so much more interesting.

Because receptivity isn’t simply being open.

And it certainly isn’t being passive.

Receiving requires relationship.

Relationship with another person.

Relationship with your environment.

And perhaps most importantly…
relationship with yourself.

Can I sense what I want?

Can I recognize what feels nourishing?

Can I allow something good to come toward me?

Can I remain connected to myself while I receive it?

Can I say YES?

Can I say NO?

Can I change my mind?

These are some of the questions underneath our next exploration in the Women’s Spiritual Anatomy Series.

This type of communication is destructive. It erodes trust, cuts deeply, & leads to a culture of violence in the world.

When we take back the power of our voices and use it instead to speak life into women, magic happens.

Women learn how to see themselves in another woman and have compassion.

Women learn how to speak from their heart to another woman.

Women learn how to receive love again.

Women feel seen and understood.

Women feel safe and like they belong.

Our words HEAL and have the power to affect whole households, families, and communities.

When we speak life into women, we are creating a culture of peace in the world 🌎

To be a Daughter of the Earth is to remember your sacred connection with this planet 🌎🌷
