The overall arc of October
If I were turning the month into a single astrological storyline, I’d break it into four movements:
October 1–10
Something isn’t working the way you thought it was.
Venus stations retrograde. Mars opposes Pluto. Mercury squares both Mars and Pluto. Saturn opposes the Sun.
The month opens by putting pressure on things that have been tolerated, ignored or rationalized.
October 11–18
Now figure out what the actual problem is.
The Libra New Moon offers a reset, but Pluto’s direct station and Mars-Saturn trine shift the emphasis toward structural change and practical action.
October 19–25
The deeper truth comes out.
Venus squares Pluto. The Sun enters Scorpio. Venus meets the Sun. Mercury stations retrograde. Venus backs into Libra.
This is the most psychologically introspective part of the month.
October 26–31
What stays? What changes?
The Ta**us Full Moon opposes the Scorpio Sun while Pluto squares both.
That’s the month’s clearest image:
security, transformation and structural change all demanding attention at once.
And Mercury closing the month by squaring Mars means the final days aren’t particularly conducive to assuming you already have the whole story.
Venus is retrograde in Scorpio as of today and I will be yapping about this all month long.

Mars and Pluto are now 180° apart exactly, this is called an opposition. It creates tension, friction, fire.
Are you fighting the good fight because it’s the right thing to do, or are you just fighting for the sake of fighting because you can’t handle not winning and not being right?
Seemed appropriate with Venus retro in Scorpio.
