Restoration Ministries - Recovery Ranch is proud to serve with and help Lil' Ministries Heidi Smith with her projects. Lil' Ministries helps parents with needs for their children from ages birth to 18. We were honored to attend her tea party fundraiser yesterday and be able to adopt a couple of children that our guys will get to shop for! There are a few more children left on her angel tree. If you're interested in selecting one, please reach out to Stephanie Grantham or Heidi for more info on how to get involved!

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" Matthew 19:14

What a night of worship and testimony at Barefoot Springs! ❤️

We were so blessed to have Greg Pettigrew with us tonight, and goodness, what a WORD he brought from 1 Samuel 29–30!

David was preparing to go into battle alongside the Philistines, which would have put him in a position to fight against his own people. But the Philistine commanders didn't trust him and sent him back.

What looked like rejection was actually God's protection! He was somewhere he shouldn't have been..

When David returned to Ziklag, he found his home burned and his wives and children taken captive. Everything that mattered to him had been carried away. His men were devastated, and they even talked about stoning him.

But Scripture tells us something powerful:

"But David encouraged himself in the LORD his God." 1 Samuel 30:6

Instead of allowing his circumstances to defeat him, David strengthened himself in the Lord. He sought God's direction, trusted His promises, and moved forward in obedience.

And this is where the story gets even sweeter!

Along the way, David and his men came across an Egyptian servant who had been abandoned by his master because he was sick. They stopped, fed him, gave him water, and cared for him. That same servant knew where the enemy had gone and led David and his men straight to them. What followed was a victory in which everything that had been taken was recovered!

But here's what really spoke to my heart tonight.

We aren't always David in this story. Sometimes we're the Egyptian servant.

A man left behind, helpless, with nothing to offer in the eyes of the one who abandoned him. But God wasn't finished with his story!

David needed someone to show him the way, and that Egyptian needed someone to come along and save his life.

God was working on BOTH sides of that encounter!

As David faithfully sought the Lord and followed His direction, God placed someone in his path who would help him fulfill what God had called him to do. And in the process, that same person received the help he desperately needed.

Isn't that just like our God?

He doesn't just prepare the path. He prepares the people who will walk it with us!

Sometimes God brings someone into our lives to help us, and sometimes He brings us into someone else's life because we are part of the help He has already prepared for them.

And sometimes, the very people God has rescued are the ones He chooses to use to bring restoration to others!

I couldn't help but think about what we see every day at Restoration Ministries Restoration Ministries - Recovery Ranch. God brings people together with different stories, different struggles, and different gifts. We may think we're the ones helping someone else, only to discover that God is using them to help us, too.

When we faithfully seek the Lord, trust His direction, and walk in the calling He has placed on our lives, we can trust Him to provide the people we need along the way.

Thank you, Greg Pettigrew, for faithfully sharing God's Word with us tonight! And thank you to everyone who came out to eat, fellowship, worship, and hear what the Lord is doing.

Our prayer is that these nights continue to grow, not just in attendance, but in hearts being encouraged, lives being restored, and people coming to know Jesus!

God is doing something special in our little neck of the woods, and we are so grateful to be a small part of it.

We serve a God who not only makes a way, but places people along that way. And sometimes, while He's using us to help someone else, He's restoring something in us, too. ❤️

We count our blessings every single day around here at the Recovery Ranch, and the truth is, we could never count high enough! ❤️

This week, we've challenged our guys to reflect on a time in their lives when they couldn't see God at work. Maybe it was a season of hurt, a wrong turn, a closed door, or a circumstance they just couldn't understand. But looking back now, they can see that God was there the whole time.

Isn't that just like our God? Even when we can't see His hand, we can trust His heart. Sometimes it's not until we're on the other side of the storm that we recognize how faithfully He carried us through it.

What once looked like a setback may have been the very place God was preparing the way for restoration.

We're looking forward to sharing some of their responses with you! We believe their reflections will be a powerful reminder that no life is too far gone, no circumstance is wasted, and God is always at work, even when we don't recognize it.

Stay tuned! God is writing some beautiful testimonies out here at the Ranch! 🌾❤️

Life at the Ranch isn't always sunshine, baby goats, fresh eggs, and happy moments. ❤️🐐

We love sharing the GOOD times with y'all. The laughter, the new life, the harvests, the victories, and all the beautiful things the Lord is doing here. But what you don't always see are the hard days, the tears, the disappointments, and the heartaches that come with this life, too.

Yesterday was one of those hard days. 💔

Our sweet Moonpie delivered her baby, but sadly, her little one was stillborn. It was a heartbreaking day for all of us here at the Ranch.

Farming has a way of reminding you just how precious and fragile life really is. We celebrate new life, but we also experience loss. And through it all, we are reminded that God is sovereign. He is good in the giving, and He is still good in the taking away.

"The LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD." — Job 1:21

The good news is that our sweet Moonpie is doing great! ❤️ And even in the midst of a sad situation, we're finding a little blessing. Moonpie is allowing us to milk her, which means we are one step closer to something we've been hoping to do here at the Ranch — homemade goat milk soap made with milk from our own goats and loofahs grown right here in our garden! 🐐🌿🧼

What a beautiful reminder that even in difficult seasons, there can still be fruit. Sometimes the Lord takes the very things that bring us heartache and uses them to teach us, grow us, and remind us of His faithfulness.

And isn't that what this whole ministry is about? Watching God bring purpose, growth, and restoration out of some of life's hardest circumstances.

The Ranch isn't just where we grow crops and raise animals. It's where we grow men, build faith, learn hard lessons, and see God's hand in every season.

Thank you for walking alongside us through the good days AND the hard ones. ❤️
