Idaho Botanical Garden presented Bug Day, celebrated on September 19, 2026, at the Idaho Botanical Garden, Boise. This is the third year that we (Parma R & E Center Entomology Program, Dr. Armando Falcon) participated, and as always, we had a blast!
The entomology program (Falcon Lab) displayed live bugs including both native and exotic species, as well as some common pests in the Treasure Valley. Our station is called "Bugs up close". The Parma entomology team included Dr. Armando Falcon, Andres Vargas, Graeme Davis, Jaycen Koffer, and Arianna Espinosa.
About the Bug Day. This is the largest event in the region dedicated to bugs. The Botanical Garden says: "this beloved event has sparked curiosity, hands-on learning, and unforgettable memories for bug lovers of all ages". Bug Day runs from 12β5 PM, with last entry at 4 PM. Typically, attendance is around 1,500-1,700 people every year.
