We live our lives in acts; the chapters where everything happens, and the quiet intermissions in between.

That’s the premise behind Alex Temple Ward’s debut solo show, Second Act, and we couldn't be happier to welcome Alex back to the Oak Ridge Playhouse stage!

Alex combines timeless songs from the Great American Songbook, fresh takes on pop classics, and personal stories about love, loss, and starting fresh. If you've been looking for a cozy, top-notch evening of live performance where you can sit back, relax, and truly connect with the music, this is it.

Plus, we’ve kept the night simple for you: general admission seating and easy, free parking right at the venue.

Before you grab your tickets, do us a quick favor...hit play on this clip.

We are so excited to welcome Alex Temple Ward back home to East Tennessee for a single night with his solo show, Second Act. Honestly, there’s no better way for us to introduce him than to just let you hear him sing for a moment.

This show is part cabaret, part personal storytelling, and part reflection on all the twists, turns, and intermissions life throws our way. Alex mixes reimagined pop hits with Great American Songbook classics and original music, looking back on where he’s been and what comes next.

Many of you might remember Alex from our stage as Link Larkin in Hairspray or Joe Hardy in Damn Yankees. Or maybe you’ve caught him with the Knoxville Symphony, on stage in NYC at 54 Below, or in the original cast of Disney’s Frozen on Disney Cruise Lines. Now, he’s coming back home to our stage for an intimate, one-of-a-kind evening.

Take a minute to watch the video, get a feel for his music, and then come share the rest of the story with us live.

What's the difference between General Admission and Reserved Seating?

We get asked this at the box office all the time! Here is a quick breakdown of how both work.

GENERAL ADMISSION (GA) is all about flexibility.

There are no assigned seat numbers on your ticket. When doors open, you head in and pick whatever open spot you like best. If you want a prime view or need to keep a group together, the secret is just arriving 20 to 30 minutes before curtain.

A great example is our upcoming show, Second Act: A Solo Show with Alex Temple Ward. You just come early, pick your spot, and settle in!

RESERVED SEATING is all about zero stress.

You pick your exact row and seat when you buy your ticket online, so that spot is 100% guaranteed. Whether you step through the doors first or walk in right before the lights dim, your chair is waiting for you. That gives you plenty of time to hang out in the lobby, grab a drink, and catch up with friends without any rush.

That’s how seating works for our upcoming production of Guess Who's Coming To Dinner.
