No one should be forced to pay union dues or fees just to get or keep a job. About NRTWC
What is the National Right to Work Committee?
The National Right to Work Committee® is a coalition of 2.8 million American citizens united by one belief:
No one should be forced to pay tribute to a union in order to get or keep a job. These citizens agree that Federal labor law should not promote coercive union power, and support the protection and enactment of additional state Right to Work laws until the federal sanction for compulsory unionism is eliminated. The National Right to Work Committee, established in 1955, is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, single-purpose citizens' organization dedicated to the principle that all Americans must have the right to join a union if they choose to, but none should ever be forced to affiliate with a union in order to get or keep a job. What is the purpose of the National Right to Work Committee? The National Right to Work Committee combats compulsory unionism through an aggressive program designed to mobilize public opposition to compulsory unionism and, at the same time, enlist public support for Right to Work legislation. Specific objectives of the program include:
Working to secure roll-call votes on and, at the soonest possible time, enact legislation to repeal the federal labor law provisions that authorize the firing of workers who refuse to pay union-boss tribute and prevent the forced unionization of additional public employees and farm workers. Safeguarding Section 14(b) of the Taft-Hartley Act (that section of the national labor law which reaffirms the right of states to have Right to Work laws). Helping state organizations to promote, enact and protect state Right to Work laws. Who are the members of the National Right to Work Committee? The members of the Committee are men and women — in all walks of life, from every corner of America, union members as well as nonunion employees — who, through their voluntary contributions, support the work of the Committee. The Committee is one of the largest public-interest groups in America. It has 2.2 million members and supporters nationwide. Moreover, poll after poll shows that nearly 80% of all Americans sympathize with the objectives of the Committee and oppose forcing workers to affiliate with a union as a job condition. How much does it cost to join the National Right to Work Committee? The members of the National Right to Work Committee contribute whatever they can afford. The average contribution is approximately $59.

Republicans’ collapse in the states is a five-alarm warning for Right to Work supporters.
Nevada’s Right to Work law is in jeopardy. Wisconsin’s Act 10 reforms and Right to Work law are on the chopping block. And Minnesota’s union-dominated model is the blueprint.
The danger isn't just losing elections in Washington. It's losing state-level protections that took decades to win.
The election results was NOT a mandate for politicians to impose Big Labor's agenda. More than 80% of voters still favor Right to Work protections. Politicians need to be reminded about that before handing Big Labor the keys to the states.

Chicago's public schools can't educate children, but their union bosses apparently have time to plot revolution on two continents.
In a recorded meeting with French unionists and far-left activists, Chicago Teachers Union officials joined a conversation about exporting communist revolutionary tactics from France to the United States.
One participant laid out the objective: “The United States government must fall.”
She went on to call for the destruction of America's existing institutions and declared there must be a willingness “to kill and be killed.”
And what's next? The group is already promising a “wild” 2028 May Day -- the communist high holy day -- featuring smashed Starbucks windows, looting, and trashed Bank of America ATMs.
So there you have it. While Chicago parents struggle with a school system that is failing their children, union leadership are busy using forced dues dollars to organize a Soviet-style revolution that stretches from Paris to the streets of America.

Well, looky here . . . Sean O’Brien is happy to call Florida home, where Right to Work protects employees from being forced to pay dues to union bosses just like him to keep their jobs.
Maybe O’Brien is following the crowd. Between 2022 and 2023, O’Brien’s home state of Massachusetts lost more than 15,000 tax filers to other states, taking nearly $4 billion in income with them. Meanwhile, during that same period, Right to Work Florida gained more than 55,000 tax filers and $20.6 billion in income through interstate migration.
Apparently, O’Brien knows a good thing when he sees it. He just doesn't want millions of other workers to enjoy the same freedom.

Imagine choosing gig work to be your own boss, only to have union bosses decide how much you earn, what rules you work under, and how your industry operates. So much for independence and flexibility!
And California progressives have made it ridiculously easy. All union bosses needed was authorization from just 30% of active Uber and Lyft drivers combined across the entire state, and they are now certified to represent EVERY rideshare driver in California . . . including the 70% who never authorized them.
And progressives aren't stopping there. Right now, they're looking for ways to extend this union-boss monopoly across entire industries, replacing workers' ability to negotiate or choose the pay, benefits, and working conditions that best suit their needs with one-size-fits-all contracts that dictate industry-wide rules.
Make no mistake: Left-wing politicians want to hand Big Labor control over entire industries because powerful unions deliver campaign cash, political muscle, and armies of activists to help keep them in power. The more union bosses gain control over workers and businesses, the more political leverage they gain for the politicians who help them get it.
California's Uber and Lyft union may just be the beginning Industry-wide bargaining could erode the very flexibility that gig workers most desire.

The teachers' union gets failing marks . . . again!
Los Angeles public schools are a financial train wreck.
Here's some math that Los Angeles school officials and union bosses would rather you didn't see: Between 2013 and 2023, enrollment plunged 34.7%, while inflation-adjusted spending on employee compensation -- including salaries, benefits, and other wages -- ROSE 27%.
Meanwhile, the majority of students can't even meet basic proficiency standards in math, English, or science.
That's right. Fewer students, more employees, a bigger payroll, and a graduating class that can't read, write, or do basic math.
Money well spent.
So what is the response from United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA), the union representing the district's teachers?
Yep, you guessed it.
Blame billionaires and demand higher taxes. It’s for the children, after all.
L.A. teachers union flunks math, blames billionaires The union is railing against a so-called 'fake independent analysis' and pushing for two separate wealth taxes.

SEIU bosses are backing David Crowley for Wisconsin governor . . . and taxpayers could end up financing their next big payday.
Crowley wants to repeal Act 10 and expand BadgerCare. Meanwhile, Wisconsin’s Medicaid-funded home-care system could give SEIU a path to thousands of new dues-paying members.
Just look at New York: the SEIU there is seeking to unionize roughly 190,000 Medicaid-funded home-care providers, many of whom care for their own family members. If successful, the union could gain monopoly representation and the power to demand dues or fees from caregivers who simply want to keep caring for their loved ones.
Now imagine that same playbook in Wisconsin. A Medicaid program intended to help vulnerable people could become a massive new dues pipeline for SEIU bosses -- expanding the union’s membership, revenue, and political clout all at taxpayers’ expense.
Publicly funded home care shouldn't become a union boss cash machine.

Well, there you have it. Someone finally said it out loud.
The Hugh K. Leatherman Terminal -- a state-of-the-art, $1 billion facility built to handle 700,000 containers a year -- was shut down “indefinitely” on August 1 because of its high unionized labor costs.
Imagine that.
Here’s the kicker: Charleston was one of the few U.S. ports operating under a “hybrid” labor model, with union and non-union workers working side by side. That is, until the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) used legal action to force the elimination of the non-union jobs at Leatherman.
The result? A modern terminal saddled with higher labor costs, struggling to compete with rival ports, and now sitting idle.
Remember that next time you hear some union boss claim that forcing more workers under their control is good for business.
Charleston port chief says recovery underway, but more work must be done • SC Daily Gazette In his State of the Port address, CEO Micah Mallace said the State Ports Authority has "kick-started our momentum."

James Talarico may think God is “non-binary,” but when it comes to hard-working Texans, he’s got a very binary choice in mind: Pay dues to a union boss or be fired.
Talarico has already sponsored legislation to repeal Texas’ Right to Work law. Now he’s endorsed the federal PRO Act, which would wipe out Right to Work protections nationwide and so much more.
Translation: If Talarico gets his way, Big Labor bosses get more forced dues, and working Texans get less freedom.
Apparently, Talarico thinks workers should have a choice about their pronouns . . . but not whether their paychecks should fund Big Labor.
