Some comebacks deserve a little extra celebration—and Mike Maguire’s is one of them! 💛💙

Last year, a devastating cycling accident landed Mike in the ICU with an uncertain future. This year, he completed THREE Olympic-distance triathlons, improved in nearly every race, and had his most active race season since 2016!

Those accomplishments reflect months of patient, persistent work—rebuilding strength, adapting to lingering double vision, and working his way back to swimming, biking, and running. Through it all, Mike has brought determination, gratitude, and an incredible drive to keep moving forward.

As his coach, I couldn’t be prouder. Watching him come this far has been one of the highlights of my year—and I’m excited to help him keep building, chasing new goals, and improving for many years to come.

Mike, you’ve earned every bit of this celebration. Your Tri Faster family is cheering you on—and we can’t wait to see what’s next! 🙌

Together we train. Several Team Tri Faster athletes enjoyed a wonderful ride on one of the last 80° days earlier this month. It felt like we won the lottery because a few days later there was frost on the ground.

Let’s get stronger together. Join me!

Two years ago, Joan Lauber’s World Championships ended with a terrible accident, a severely broken ankle, and a long hospital stay in Spain. The road back was long, and returning to the world stage took tremendous courage.

This week, Joan raced at the World Triathlon World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain, and finished third in her age group in the Sprint Triathlon. Two days later, she earned the silver medal in the Standard Distance Aquabike.

What a beautiful comeback. These medals reflect so much more than two great races. They represent every step Joan took to heal, rebuild, and believe she could get here again.

Joan, your Tri Faster family is so proud of you. Coaching you through this journey has made Coach Lauren especially proud. You earned every bit of this moment.

Reminder, the next session starts next week!

Whoa, Fall already? Trade in our sunburns for pumpkin spice lattes and... wait, what's that? More swimming!!! 🏊‍♀️Time to focus on form and fitness.
