Mile To Marathon

Angela Fleck.....welcome to the marathon club 🎉

Angela ran her 1st marathon at the warm Chicago Marathon in just over 5hrs.

After talking with her last night, I'm not sure who was partying more during the race...her or the spectators.

Congratulations Angela, I'm really happy and proud of you, and again welcome to the club!

A HUGE congratulations to our Mile To Marathon's Ryan Paulson on his "solo" 100 mile run that he designated the "Franklin- Ford 100"

Ryan started his run Saturday morning at 8:00am on the Lake street bridge and West River Road. And finished just after 9:00am this morning.

After his run I told him this might have been one of his best runs....not for his overall time, but basically doing it self supported and battling the demons between our ears when in the middle of the night with no other runners, no aid/checkpoints are saying it's ok to stop, he pushed on.

On behalf of Ryan, I want to say thank you to our MTM runners who came out throughout his run to support him.

It was also really cool that members of the
came out and put some miles in with him.

That's what I love about running , the
camaraderie we all share for the sport we love. It was great meeting and running with you.

What a spectacular weekend it was for the
Twin Cities In Motion races.

Congratulations to our Mile To Marathon's runners starting with David Hirchak running a new PR in 3:42:44. This was David's 2nd marathon with last year's Chicago Marathon being his 1st, and TCM was his 1st with MTM.

Congratulations to our Mile To Marathon runner Carrie Gahr who competed in the Looney Challenge (10k, 5k, 10 mile)

Carrie ran the 10k in 46:55 which was good for 8th in her Age Group and 32nd overall female.

In the 5k she ran a 27:05 and her Age Group

And in 10 Mile she ran a 1:2207

Dave Berg ran the 10k in 1:19:08 and the 5k in 42:53

Erin Megna Henderson ran the 10 mile in a new PR running a 1:09:43 which was good for 91st female overall and 24th in her Age Group.

Val Luutran also PR'd running a 1:17:59

Amit Mattoo ran 1:27:27 as he continues to train for the Chevron Houston Marathon in January

Daria Devko also ran a big 10 mile PR running a 1:4759.

It was great seeing so many friends out on the course and spectating this weekend. Congrats to everyone who toed the starting lines and to ALL the volunteers who make this such a great event.

Congratulations to Kahlen on her great race at today's GF XC Border Battle .

Kahlen was the 8th place finisher and improved on her time from last year by approximately :15 on what was more of a mud run vs XC race.

I had the honor and pleasure on working with Kahlen over the summer helping her prepare for this season. And she's off to a great start!

It was another fun workout at this morning's 5th anniversary of this ParkRun.

We had the top 4 women....

Erin was 1st
Val was 2nd
Carrie was 3rd
Daria was 4th.

Ryan was 2nd male and Mic was 6th.

I think today might have been the the best weather for the annual City Of Lakes Half Marathon that I can remember.

Im so excited for our Mile To Marathon's team races coming up at the Twin Cities In Motion, Chicago Marathon , BMW BERLIN-MARATHON TCS New York City Marathon and CIM ...its going to be a great fall!

As always, it was a great workout and such a fun event to run . We'll be heading back to run it next weekend as they'll be celebrating their 5 year anniversary.

Congratulations to our Mile To Marathon's Margaret Ludick (Nashville TN based) on her win at this mornings running a 36:48 on what sounds like it was a pretty rolling course.

Perfect training run as she continues her build up for the CIM marathon in December.

Great job Margaret and all the runners who toed the starting line this morning.
