It's International Sheltie Day!๐ŸŽ‰

They are called Shetland Sheepdog, but are mostly known as a Sheltie. They are a highly intelligent, intensely loyal herding breed that resembles a miniature Rough Collie. Their physical agility and high intelligence make them dominant competitors in agility, tracking, and obedience trials. Here are two of our patients who are Shelties, Wakefield and Bristol!

Have you ever lost your pet?

May is also known to help owners remember to microchip their pets. In case they get lost, their microchip is one of the best ways to get your fur baby back to you! We have had a few pets arrive to us by good samaritans. The first thing we do is check for collars, then for a microchip. If a microchip is found, it helps us get the owner's contact information to contact them to let them know that their pet was found and how they came to with us. It made the process much more easier for everyone involved to reunite them back to their family! If your pet does have a microchip, make sure that it is registered to you and that your information is current. If you haven't microchipped your pet, call us at 770-998-5100 to make an appointment to bring your pet in to get microchipped.

Did you know some pets are more prone to heat exhaustion? Flat-faced breeds, seniors, and overweight pets need extra care in the heat.
