Charge into Fire Safety - Safe Charging is a Superpower! ๐๐ซ๐ฅ
E-bikes, electric scooters, power tools, and other larger battery-powered items require a little extra attention when it comes to charging. These items use larger batteries that store more energy. If one of these batteries overheats, becomes damaged, or fails, this can start a fire that will grow very quickly.
Always charge larger items outside and away from your home. If you absolutely have to charge them inside, make sure they are not blocking a doorway, hallway, or any other exit. Never charge these items in a location that could prevent you or your family from getting outside safely if something goes wrong.

A little rain didnโt stop us today! ๐ง๏ธ๐ We had a great time visiting Manning Early Childhood Center - CCSD to kick off Fire Prevention Week!
We talked with the children about when to call 911, knowing their home address, the sound smoke alarms make and what to do when they hear one. We also talked about getting out and staying out if thereโs a fire, having a family meeting place, and making sure everyone knows where to go once theyโre safely outside.
We also tied in this yearโs Fire Prevention Week theme, โCharge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging is a Superpower!โ ๐๐ฅ The kids learned where and how to safely charge their devices.
Even with the rainy weather, we still managed to get outside and spend some time with these little ones! We always enjoy getting out into our community and helping teach our youngest residents how they can play a part in keeping themselves and their families safe. โค๏ธ๐
Thank you, Manning Early Childhood Center, for having us today!
