Morgan Patricia Designs is the creation of LA-based jewelry designer, Carlie Matthews. Her organic line of handcrafted jewelry is inspired by memories of growing up on the sunny beaches of New Jersey, south Florida, and dreams of faraway tropical lands. She believes that personal style is truly an expression of your imagination, with hers stemming from having spent the better part of her childhood exploring the shoreline & swimming in the surf. Carlie’s tiny wearable sculptures escape reality and float in an ethereal world of seashells, barnacles, sharks, and mermaids. Intricate details and effortless wearability give a feeling of serenity to the wearer and embody the timeless silhouettes that make up the collection of 14k gold, sterling silver, and a rainbow assortment of opals with a splash of diamonds. She believes in designing jewelry you can live in; meant for any occasion, and always purchased with a cause. 1% of all sales are donated to educating our youth on the importance of our oceans! The line is created with a little bit of sunshine and ocean vibes, through the lost wax casting method using recycled metals and ethically sourced natural, raw, and polished gemstones in downtown, Los Angeles.

What better way to celebrate National Coffee Day ☕️❤️ The Breakfast collection one-of-a-kind hand carved mugs were inspired by slow mornings with friends over coffee.
While this obviously falls outside of my sea-inspired niche, the whimsical “C Creations” capsule collections feed my soul. The Breakfast items also feed into a cause I whole-heartedly believe in, with a portion of all food-inspired sales going to World Central Kitchen . Cortney was looking to combine elements of her original four into one easy to wear ring featuring her heirloom diamond, a sapphire halo, and the diamonds from her father’s band. We set her father’s diamonds into a hidden halo beneath the basket and incorporated additional diamonds down the sides ✨👌🏼 I love how that hidden halo is a BRIGHT sparkling surprise! This was a fun one, thanks Cortney!

This client is one of my oldest friends, and it always means the world to me when friends and family come to me with their dream ideas! So glad to say I’m absolutely in love with how this 18k, 4.45ct cushion cut pink tourmaline, and assorted pink sapphire ring turned out. From sourcing the perfect shade of pink tourmaline to a CAD design that matched her vision, and hand selecting the complimentary shades of pink sapphire… It’s perfect on you, Annie!

I am so excited to share this custom seashell pendant I recently finished for a client! Our design journey began earlier this year when I traveled to the Tucson Gem Show in search for the perfect opal carved seashell.
My client chose this vibrant, striped opal for her design to be set in a mix of 14k yellow and white gold, accented by an array of blue and green gemstones to signify the sea, and set with a sweet starfish prong.
I am absolutely thrilled with how this custom pendant turned out! A mix of blue sapphires, blue topaz, emerald, and blue tourmaline perfectly complemented the fire in the opal. The design, bubbly details, accent gemstone sizes and placement flowed through me as easily as the soft red wax that I carve. It was such a joy to create!
