A Career Built on Problem-Solving Comes to TREKK - TREKK Design Group Meet Kristen, the 2025 Improving Lives Award winner from TREKK's St. Louis office, recognized for her servant leadership and GIS innovation.

A logjam isn't just a problem for rivers. While deploying the Cloacina sewer float in Johnson County, Team TREKK discovered a large log lodged inside a major sewer interceptor. The obstruction was restricting flow and could have contributed to backups and potential overflows during wet weather events.

Working alongside Chase Wallender and Jared Cook from Johnson County Wastewater, TREKK's Ethan Melton and Troy Young successfully wrangled the log, secured it with a rope, and hoisted it out through a manhole.

By quickly identifying and removing the obstruction, the team helped restore flow and reduce the risk of potential sewer overflows into a nearby creek. This was a great example of collaboration in action to protect critical infrastructure and the environment.
