FALL BACK, CHECK YOUR ALARMS!!

Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 1st! As you turn your clocks back one hour, take a few minutes to make sure your smoke alarms are ready to protect your family.

A working smoke alarm could save your life. Don't wait until an emergency to find out yours isn't working!

Please see the attached press release regarding the City of Grovetown's new ISO classification rating of 1, set to go into effect in February of 2027. Only 1% of all fire departments rated by the ISO carry this rating, so please join us in congratulating Grovetown Fire Rescue on this massive milestone achievement!

ANNUAL BURN BAN LIFTED

The Georgia Forestry Commission’s annual burn ban has been lifted, and open burning is permitted beginning today, October 1st.

As burning season begins, please remember that Georgia’s open burning laws and requirements still apply. Always check the weather, keep your fire under control, and make sure you are following all required precautions.

Please review the pictured Georgia Forestry Commission fact sheet for information on what can be burned and safe burning practices.

Stay safe and burn responsibly!

Annual Fire Hydrant Testing

Grovetown Fire Rescue recently had the opportunity to host a helicopter landing zone and safety training class presented by Wellstar AirCare.

Training like this helps ensure our firefighters are prepared to safely establish landing zones and work alongside air medical crews when every second counts.

We were happy to train alongside our partners from Columbia County Fire Rescue and appreciate Wellstar AirCare taking the time to share their knowledge and experience.

4/22/26: The Georgia Forestry Commission has issued a 🛑30 DAY BURN BAN🛑 May 22, 2026 due to drought conditions and the extensive wildfires plaguing South Georgia. This 91-county declaration includes COLUMBIA COUNTY.
