💧 Gilbert is considering new rules for data centers, and residents will have a chance to weigh in.

The Gilbert Town Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing on proposed changes to the Town’s development rules for data centers.

📅 Tuesday, October 20, 2026
🕡 6:30 PM
📍 Gilbert Municipal Center
50 E. Civic Center Drive, Gilbert, AZ

The proposed changes are aimed at creating stricter standards for future data centers in Gilbert, including rules related to water use, cooling systems, setbacks from neighborhoods, noise, landscaping and building design.

One of the biggest topics is water. Earlier versions of the proposal included restrictions on the use of municipal drinking water for data center cooling and limits on certain evaporative cooling systems.

This hearing is about townwide regulations, not approval of one specific new data center. If data centers, water use and future development are important to you, this is a meeting worth paying attention to.

👉 Would you support stricter rules for data centers in Gilbert?

Let’s show one of our longtime local favorites some love. ❤️

After our recent post about restaurants that may be struggling, Flancer’s owner Shane Lindsey reached out and shared that business has really slowed down over the past several years. Between rising costs, a new roof, and more competition, it has been a tough road.

Flancer’s has been part of the Gilbert community for almost 27 years, and places like this are what make Gilbert special. They are not a big chain. They are a local spot with history, heart, and some seriously amazing food.

We have been to Flancer’s many times over the years, and a few of my personal favorites are the Prickly Pear Sandwich, the Goat Cheese Bruschetta, and the Philly Cheesesteak.

If you have been meaning to go back, or have never tried them, this is a great time to support local.

📍 Flancer’s
610 N Gilbert Rd
Gilbert, AZ 85234

Let’s rally around a Gilbert original and help remind them how much this community appreciates them. If you stop in, make sure to tell them Go Gilbert sent you.

Let’s show Flancer’s some love & share this post!
