Good morning IACH Patients,

To improve access to care, we post daily updates about same-day availability, broken down into appointment categories. These are for patients assigned a Primary Care Manager at our main hospital only. Soldiers assigned to Farrelly Health Clinic and Aviation Health Clinic offer separate appointments.

If we do not have an appointment that meets your needs, for non-emergency concerns please consider the MHS Nurse Advice Line or the VIPRR clinic for guidance and same-day care options. The NAL and the VIPRR clinic are available Monday through Friday from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM, connecting you with a registered nurse who can schedule you for a same-day virtual appointment with a licensed VIPRR provider. Call 1-800-TRICARE (874-2273).

To understand the graphic, Family Practice encompasses any clinician that can see both pediatric and adult patients, Soldier Medicine is for those Soldiers assigned to Primary Care at IACH, and Internal Medicine only sees adult patients.

Same-Day Appointment Guidelines:
• Who Can Book: Patients assigned to a Primary Care Manager (PCM) at IACH. Soldiers assigned to Farrelly or Aviation Clinics use separate appointment processes.
• What Qualifies: Illnesses or injuries with a rapid onset (present for less than 5 days) such as fevers, sore throats, pain, migraines, sprains, burns, or cuts.
• What Does Not Qualify: Any illness or injury present for longer than 5 days. These conditions require a future, scheduled appointment rather than a same-day slot.

Check back daily for availability updates.

U.S. health data shows that while nearly 1 in 5 men experience a mental health condition each year, fewer than half (41%) seek treatment.

Additionally, the su***de rate among U.S. males is four times higher than among women according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Men often face unique barriers to accessing mental health care including:

- Pressure to conform to rigid gender norms that include emotional restriction, self-reliance, and stoicism.
- Cultural expectations that discourage vulnerability and asking for help.

This means depression and mental health struggles in men often go unrecognized, undiagnosed and untreated.

What you can do about it…

Check in with yourself:
Being self-aware helps you recognize when you are able to cope and when you need to step back, recharge, or seek outside support.

Know your family history:
Mental health conditions often run in families. Knowing this information can give you greater insight and help you to proactively identifying early warning signs.

Reach out for help:
Speaking up takes courage, but you do not have to carry the weight alone. Whether you open up to a trusted friend, battle buddy, or family member, or book an appointment with a mental health professional, starting the conversation is a powerful act of strength.

Early Detection Saves Lives

The Fort Riley community gathered at Whitside Track on Saturday morning, Oct. 24, 2026, for a breast health walk and run to promote early detection and education. To directly support preventative care, an IACH nurse was on-site to verify screening eligibility and schedule mammograms for participants on the spot.

Through this outreach, 11 eligible beneficiaries who were due for their annual screenings were booked for appointments. By bringing scheduling capabilities to the track, the Fort Riley Public Health and IACH team helped remove the friction that often delays routine, lifesaving healthcare.

If you are due for your screening, call to schedule your appointment:

Ages 40+ with No Current Breast Concerns:
Call our Radiology Department at (785) 239-7911 to self-refer and schedule your annual screening mammogram.

Any Patient experiencing breast pain, lumps, bumps, ni**le discharge, or dimpling:
Call to schedule a diagnostic clinical breast exam with your Primary Care Manager at (785) 239-3627, Option 1.
