Urban Rustic Okie

I know I've been MIA lately. Life is busy and I have not been crafting at all. End of school year got me all out of sorts now! On the house front - ours is still for sale, no takers just yet. We've slowed down on looking at houses and lots. No point spending a lot of time on that until we have a buyer. So that means we still don't know for sure if we are buying an existing home or building. Either way here's a nice inspiration photo from Studio McGee that makes me feel all warm and cozy!

🎨✨ Sprinkling some color and warmth into the workspace with this hand-painted gem! 🌈✨ Excited I was asked to make this vibrant sign that reads "Bienvenidos Amigos" - made it for a coworker who gifted it to another coworker for her office space. Because every day should feel like a fiesta, right? 🎉 Here's to creating a workplace that's not only welcoming but also full of cheer and camaraderie! 🎨🚪✨

Beautiful Sunday here in Oklahoma! First church, then trimming the butterfly bushes so they can come back nice and pretty in a few weeks. What’s on your list today?

How I sort through the pile when selecting lumber:

I first look at the end grain and avoid any with the pith (center of tree).

Then I start pulling them out and checking to see if they are bowed or warped.

Last, I'll check to make there's no huge gauges, chips or too many knots.

Some days are good like when they just restocked, other times it's a miss.

Working on a custom order today. This one gives me all the feels with all the bright colors. I'll share more as it progresses along.

🎨 Feeling stuck in a creative rut lately, and it's been a struggle to break free. 😔 It's like my imagination has hit a roadblock and the ideas just aren't flowing like they used to. 🛑 But you know what? It's okay to feel this way sometimes. We all go through phases where inspiration seems elusive. The important thing is to keep pushing forward, even if it's just a tiny step at a time. 💪✨ So here's to embracing the slump, knowing that brighter, more colorful days are ahead. 🎨

Tip: If you have a lot of cuts to make of the same size: make a stop block for the size you need so you don't have to measure over and over again.

This also results in more accurate cuts!

Just don't hit the block while moving your board there.
