🎃 Thank You, SAA Community!

Thank you to everyone who came to Trunk-or-Treat and to all the families, staff, and volunteers who made the event possible. We’re grateful to everyone who helped with the event, decorated a trunk, handed out candy, and made the afternoon fun for our students.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

SAA in Action: Slime Lab

Before getting their hands messy with slime, our students first explored the science and precision behind the process!

In the days leading up to the lab, students learned about chemical engineering and practiced using metric measurements. During the Slime Lab, they put those skills into action by carefully measuring with graduated cylinders and triple-beam balances.

From precise measurements to hands-on experimentation, this lab showed how gifted learning connects STEM concepts, problem-solving, and real-world application.

What does your BEST SELF look like?

3rd graders at SAA spent some time thinking about the qualities they want to bring into the world when they’re being their best selves.

Then they created their own Best Self Selfie Sticks, filling them with words that describe who they want to be, including kind, creative, smart, strong, positive, funny, and so much more.

Because being your best self isn’t about being perfect, it’s about knowing who you want to be and continuing to grow into that person.

Popsicles on the Playground. ☀️

Fridays at SAA feel a little sweeter. Our Popsicles on the Playground tradition lets students slow down, enjoy a treat, and spend time with friends and classmates. It’s also a chance for parents to connect, catch up, and get to know other families in our community.

It may seem like a small moment, but these everyday experiences help our school feel like a real community.

We’re grateful for everyone who helps make moments like these possible, and for a community that keeps investing in making SAA a special place to learn, grow, and belong.

Help us continue creating the experiences that bring our SAA community together by making a gift to the Future-Focused Fund.

Gifted learning isn't simply about moving faster or doing more work. It's about giving students opportunities to think deeper, ask bigger questions, make connections, and explore ideas that challenge them.

At SAA, students thrive when they're encouraged to be curious, think critically, and go beyond the expected.

That's gifted learning in action. ✨

Our 2nd graders read Heart Bubbles by Heather Krantz and learned how kind words, caring actions, and thoughtful choices can help others feel noticed and cared for. 🫧

Afterward, they went outside. Students blew bubbles, spreading a bit more kindness and compassion into the world.

It was a simple reminder that had our students jumping for joy.

A week in the SOL garden, where learning grows. 🌱

This week, our students explored the Sustainability & Outdoor Learning (SOL) Garden.

During the week, students observed and recorded the biodiversity around them, writing in journals about the plants, insects, and other living things they found. They also wrote poetry inspired by the garden and got their hands dirty picking fresh tomatoes and kale.

The garden became a living classroom for science, research, writing, and creativity. It gave students a chance to slow down, notice details, ask questions, and make connections.

At SAA, curiosity can take root anywhere.
